Sarkodie has been attacked by social media users after a tweet in which he reacted to the recent brutalising of peaceful protestors by the Ghana Police Service.
Sarkodie’s cool and collected tweet which had mild criticism for the government was rejected by netizens who called him out for being a hypocrite.
As already reported, a protest held Thursday, September 21 2023 dubbed the Occupy Julorbi House, was turned into an arresting spree by the police.
The police broke up the protest and arrested protestors – with some even being violently assaulted including popular journalist Bridget Otoo.
In reaction, numerous celebrities have spoken out and condemned the police and the ruling government for its draconian reaction to what was essentially a harmless protest.
Sarkodie also spoke out, writing: “You can only be scared of a peaceful protest when you know you deserve otherwise,”
Social media users were not having his lukewarm post and slammed him for it, reminding he would have written worst if the NDC were still in power.
“E reach Akufo Addo de3 you dey tweet like Chinua Achebe. Mahama de3 you open your muff 360 like Afia Schwarzenegger do diss give am smh,” one angry netizen wrote.
