After a young Israeli couple hidden their 10-month-old twins in a covert refuge to spare them the same terrible fate, the pair was murdered by Hamas militants in their Israeli house.
When Itay and Hadar Berdichevsky, both 30, heard the shooters attempting to break through their front door, they moved swiftly to defend themselves.
Moments before the Hamas attackers broke into their home, the frightened parents hastily packed their two infants into a concealed refuge, according to Israeli ambassador to Colombia Gali Dagan.
More than 700 Israelis have died as a result of the gunmen’s attack on Israel, during which Itay and Hadar ‘bravely fought’ until they were shot and killed.
Dagan praised the couple as “heroes” for doing “everything they could to save their children” and added that their two babies were fortunately spotted and saved by Israeli soldiers after being left alone for more than 12 hours.
Dagan posted on Twitter, “They hid their 10-month-old twins in the shelter while terrorists broke into their home.” Itay and Hadar valiantly resisted the terrorists before being ruthlessly killed.
Before they were saved, the infants were abandoned for over twelve hours. Think about the horror. The now orphaned children of two fearful parents are trying everything in their power to save them. May these heroes’ memories be blessed.
After the gunmen launched a surprise attack on Israel over the weekend, Itay and Hadar are now two of the more than 700 Israelis who have lost their lives at the hands of Hamas terrorists.
