American actor Charles Cyphers, best known for his role in the movie franchise Halloween, has died.
Deadline Hollywood reports that Cyphers died Sunday, August 4th following a battle with an illness.
He was 85.
His friend and manager, Chris Roe, confirmed Cyphers’ passing in a statement to Deadline.
“Charles was a lovable and sensitive man,” Roe said in a statement. “He always had the best stories, and you got a full performance while he told you. He was a close friend and client of many years who will be dearly missed.”
Cyphers was mostly known for his role as Sheriff Leigh Brackett in John Capenter’s 1978 horror movie, Halloween.
He also reprised the role in Halloween II and Halloween Kills.
On Television, Cyphers had roles on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “ER” and “Seinfeld”, among others.
