Jana Duggar, the eldest Duggar daughter at 34, has married Stephen Wissmann, 31, in a stunning ceremony on August 15 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. The “classic, elegant” wedding was attended by 500 guests at The Grand at Willow Springs, where Jana’s father, Jim Bob Duggar, walked her down the aisle to the hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy.”
The Counting On alum, had always dreamed of her wedding day, even though it felt like it might never come. “It’s a dream come true,” she shared, marveling at how her vision had finally become reality. She described her wedding dress as “classy and a bit like a princess,” perfectly matching the decor of the event, which featured black suits for the groomsmen, champagne-colored dresses for the bridesmaids, and simple white flowers and greenery. Her sisters played key roles in the ceremony, with Jessa Duggar Seewald serving as the maid of honor. Joy-Anna Forsyth, Johannah Duggar, Jinger Duggar Vuolo, and Jordyn Duggar, along with Jana’s sister-in-law Abbie Duggar, were all bridesmaids.
The pair became engaged in June and reportedly met years ago through their families. Like Jana, Stephen Wissmann comes from a large, devoutly religious family with 13 children. He owns a business and is a private pilot, according to his Instagram.
After exchanging traditional vows and lighting a unity candle, Jana and Stephen celebrated with their guests at a reception hosted by Stephen’s family. Jana’s brother-in-law emceed the post-wedding festivities, leading games and activities before the newlyweds shared their first dance. Jana then tossed her bouquet into the crowd, capping off a day she described as incredible and hard to believe.
