Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been slammed by social media users after claiming during a press conference that he cannot fix all of Ghana’s problems now because he needs something to do when he becomes President.
Bawumia, following in the footsteps of the NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, held a meet the Press event Sunday night to take questions from Ghanaian journalists.
The event was to send out his message to the public and reassure Ghanaians that he could be up to the job of being President.
Unfortunately, it seems to have backfired instead after the Veep made a comment Ghanaians are deeming insensitive.
Asked about why he keeps promising things he will do when he comes to power rather than doing them now, Bawumia said if he fixes all of Ghana’s issues now, he won’t have anything to do when he becomes President.
His answer prompted angry responses from Ghanaians with one person writing on Twitter: “And he’s laughing too, Chale this man is empty 😂”
