Wanda Smith Wikipedia
Wanda Smith born October 11, 1966 (age:58, originally from Miami FL) was an American radio personality, actress, writer and stand-up comedian, popular for her run as host of the Frank Ski and Wanda Smith show on V-103 in Atlanta.
Smith became a legendary name and voice in Atlanta as she hosted the city’s hottest morning show with the legendary Frank Ski for 14 straight years.
Originally named the Frank Ski Morning Show, Wanda Smith added her own unique flavour to the show when she joined, leading to it being renamed. The Frank Ski and Wanda Smith in the Morning show consistently maintained some of the highest ratings in the Atlanta region. Virtually every year, the show was ranked #1 or at the very least #2 among morning shows in Atlanta.
Smith originally left V-103 in 2012 when both she and Ski decided their time on-air had come to their end. Smith wanted to make a return to stand-up comedy while Ski wanted to become a restaurateur. Their last show aired on December 20, 2012.
Smith eventually returned in 2014 to co-host alongside Ryan Cameron, who had taken over the morning show reins. Cameron eventually left the station in early 2018, ending that part of Smith’s career. She was then joined by comedian Joe “Miss Sophia” McIntosh and a returning Frank Ski. She finally left for good in January 2019.
In stand-up comedy, Wanda Smith had writing credits for the series Def Comedy Jam. She appeared in movies including Madea Goes to Jail, Madea’s Witness Protection, and The Drone That Saved Christmas.
Personal Life
Wanda Smith was married to LaMorris Sellers and they had three children, Tavares, Giovanni, and Isaiah.
Smith infamously had an on-air dust-up with Katt Williams in 2018 that was speculated to have contributed to her departure from V-103.
During an interview, the two started volleying insults at each other, with video of the interaction going viral. Smith and her husband Sellers then reportedly confronted Katt Williams in-person in the parking lot leading to the Atlanta Comedy Club in Norcross. Sellers is alleged to have pulled a gun on Katt Williams who was seen running for his life alongside his companion. Smith then quietly left V-103 a few months later.
Wanda Smith died on October 12, a day after her 58th birthday. Her net worth is unknown.
