Ghanaian socialite and actress Efia Odo didn’t hold back during a candid episode of her Rants and Bants podcast, where she opened up about her views on submission in relationships. According to her, submission isn’t something a woman should automatically give; it has to be earned by the right kind of man.
Efia made it clear that for her to be submissive, the man must meet certain standards. “Before I can submit to a man, he has to have a certain level of responsibility. You need to be a provider, a man who respects himself, someone I can grow with, and learn from,” she said. She went on to explain that when a man is showing leadership and truly being a man, submission becomes natural for a woman.
“Why wouldn’t a woman be submissive if the man is doing what he’s supposed to do?” she asked. But she didn’t stop there. Efia questioned the sense in expecting submission from a man who isn’t pulling his weight. “If a guy isn’t doing anything, why would you expect a woman to be submissive? It doesn’t make sense.”
