Ghanaian radio presenter Abdul Karim, popularly known as Nana Romeo, has apologized for a comment he made regarding the tragic deaths of two girls in an accident caused by the son of Bishop Salifu Amoako.
The victims, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, lost their lives in a fatal accident on Saturday, October 12, 2024. While discussing the incident on UTV’s United Showbiz program on October 19, 2024, Nana Romeo commented on how death is viewed in Islam. As a Muslim, he emphasized that Allah is the giver and taker of life, and therefore, the manner in which a person dies cannot be questioned.
Following backlash over his remarks, Nana Romeo clarified that his comment was not intended to add to the grief of the bereaved family. He explained that his statement was based on his understanding of his religion.
Romeo also expressed sadness over the tragic accident and asked for forgiveness from those who may have misunderstood his words.
