Joshua ‘Josh’ Palmer, a beloved tattoo artist, owner of Old Vine Tattoo in Lodi, CA, has died.
Palmer’s death reportedly occurred in Mexico, where he suffered a fall of a balcony. Palmer was on vacation when the tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, October 25th, 2024.
Family members of the late tattoo artist travelled to Rosarito to identify and claim his body. A GoFundMe has been started in his memory to raise funds to transport his body back home.
“Friends and Family, we are reaching out to share the heartbreaking news of a tragic accident that claimed the life of Joshua Clayton Palmer,” organizer Chelsy Bell Carpenter of Woddbridge CA, wrote in the fundraiser. “We are working to raise funds to cover the costs associated with transporting him home and arranging a meaningful farewell.”
Joshua Palmer’s Old Vine Tattoo shop was well known in Lodi where he was a respected member of the business and local community. His incredible talent and ability to tattoo the most complex designs made him the go-to for most tattoo lovers in the area. He sometimes received offers from out of state and even out of country leading to him traveling quite a bit.
Palmer is survived by two sons who have been left devastated by his passing. The fundraiser in his memory has so far raised over $44,000 despite an initial modest $10,000 goal.
