Soren Dixon, a freshman at the University of South California and former Piedmont High School star athlete, has been identified as one of three people killed in the Tesla Cybetruck crash.
The crash which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, November 27th, led to the deaths of three Piedmont High School class of 2023 graduates who had all gone off to college but returned to Piedmont for Thanksgiving.
According to reports, the Cybertruck was traveling near the corners of Sea View Avenue and Hampton Road next to Crocker Park when it jumper a curb, crashed into a tree, and burst into flames. Officials believe speed to be a factor in the crash.
Three people died in the Cybertruck, and one person was pulled outside by a driver who had been driving behind the cyber truck.
The rescued individual is in the hospital with critical injuries and severe burns.
Authorities have yet to identify the victims but the mother of Jordan Miller, the surviving individual, identified all three victims to CBS News.
The three young people who died in the crash were Jack Nelson, Soren Dixon, and Krysta Tsukahara – all of whom graduated from Piedmont High School in 2023 and were sophomores in college. Nelson attended the University of Colorado, while Tsukahara was studying at Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta.
Miller, meanwhile, was a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin. His mother confirmed he had undergone multiple surgeries and was recuperating slowly.
“We’re just taking it day by day,” Samantha Miller said.
Bronson Boyle, a college roommate of Dixon’s, shared a touching tribute to his late friend on Instagram.
“Soren Dixon. One of the greatest I’ve ever known. The best roommate and friend I ever could’ve asked for,” Boyle said. “Our first night as roommates we snuck onto the new north roof, and just talked for hours, getting to know one another. That first day encounter, and every day of the 8 months that followed as roommates, were filled with unpredictable fun.”
He added: ” I’ll always remember you as brother-one who was righteous beyond belief. Rest in peace man. I’ll miss ya every day. I’ll raise a glass to you every day forever,”
