‘I Represent The Future, Mahama Represents The Past, Choose Wisely’- Bawumia Urges Voters

As the December 7 elections approach, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has made a strong appeal to voters, urging them to choose progress and innovation over a return to past policies. Speaking at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) final rally at the University of Ghana Stadium on December 5, 2024, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the significance of the upcoming elections, describing them as a turning point for Ghana’s future.

Dr. Bawumia, who is running as the NPP’s presidential candidate, contrasted his vision with that of his main rival, former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He stated, “The choice that Ghanaians have on Saturday is whether we want to go forward to the future or backwards into the past.” He proudly pointed to the NPP’s accomplishments over the past eight years, particularly the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, which has provided education to over 5.7 million students.

The Vice President emphasized that the NPP is committed to transforming Ghana into a more advanced nation, backed by a “mindset of possibilities.” He highlighted the government’s successes in healthcare, education, and infrastructure as evidence of their forward-thinking approach. “We believe it is possible to transform this country into an advanced country. We believe in possibilities because we have a mindset of possibilities,” Dr. Bawumia declared.

The rally, called the “Possibilities Victory Rally,” was filled with energy as supporters gathered in large numbers. It also featured performances by popular musicians and speeches from key party figures, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
