Nigerian singer Timaya, born Inetimi Alfred Odon, has opened up about why he remains unmarried at the age of 44, despite having three baby Mama’s . In an interview with Naija FM, the “Dem Mama” and “Egedege” hitmaker candidly discussed his views on marriage, relationships, and his personal priorities.
Timaya explained that marriage has never been a part of his life plan, though he remains open to the possibility. “I have never been a marriage guy right from time, but it can change,” he shared. However, he made it clear that his peace of mind comes first, emphasizing that he would leave any relationship or marriage if it became stressful. “If I marry today and the girl disturbs me, I can get out of the marriage. I don’t like stress.”
Reflecting on his past relationships, the singer revealed that his aversion to stress has always been a driving factor. “In all my previous relationships, I was the one who got out because I don’t like stress,” he stated. He further explained his approach to resolving conflicts: “If you have a problem with me, let’s talk about it because I don’t like going to bed thinking about things. I go die o. I don’t like anything to bother me at all.”
Timaya also touched on his role as a father, acknowledging both the joys and challenges it brings. While he deeply loves his children, he admitted that fatherhood requires a balance to maintain his peace of mind. “Being a father is enjoyable but also stressful,” he said. “I cherish my kids, but I always aim to live a stress-free life.”
