Ghanaian gospel artist Empress Gifty has opened up about her husband, Hopeson Adorye, and the struggles they have faced, particularly during his time with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Hopeson, a former NPP parliamentary candidate for Kpone Katamanso, was expelled from the party in November 2023 after endorsing Alan Kyerematen over the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
This expulsion was deemed a violation of party rules. Subsequently, he lost his position at the airport, further compounding the family’s challenges.
In a TikTok live session, Empress Gifty revealed that despite these setbacks, things are now looking up.
Following the victory of John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 elections, Hopeson visited the President-elect’s residence to offer his congratulations. Empress noted that her husband has since regained his job at the airport, even though Mahama has yet to be sworn into office.
Empress Gifty also lambasted critics asking her to stop talking too much. She added that as nobody knows the struggles and attacks she and her husband had to face, no one has a right to ask her to stop talking.
