Several died instantly, whilst many more were carried away by emergency services, most of whom had limbs torn off. The death toll has been pegged at 48, whilst about 79 more are injured.

Joey B Thrills Crowd at the Big Brother Live Eviction Show |Frankie and Permithias Evicted

Joey B
Joey B

Ghanaian artist Joey B, thrilled DStv audiences at the Big Brother Africa eviction show this weekend by performing his popular song, Tonga.

Even though musical duo Frankie (Rwanda) and Permithias (Namibia) made it past the halfway mark of Big Brother Hotshots, but their journey ended on Day 35 after failing to gather enough votes from Africa to keep them in the running for the USD300 000 prize. The evicted duo follow compatriots Arthur and Luis, who were part of the trio sent home last week, meaning that Rwanda and Namibia are now out of Big Brother Hotshots altogether.

Butterphly’s surprise was both visible and audible when Head of House Idris revealed during the show that he’d added her to the nomination list. His reason was that he knew she was a strong person, but didn’t believe in herself – so he wanted Africa to vote for her to show her how strong she really is. Still reeling from the news, she stood alongside the other nominees and was relieved when first Frankie and then Permithias left, instead of her.

‘You Would Do the Nation a Lot of Good by Taking ‘Miracle’ Sessions Off-Air’- Former Prez Rawlings

J J Rawlings
J J Rawlings

You cannot escape them nowadays; most television stations in the country have their own versions of it- hours of miracle and deliverance sessions involving pastors and their often awestruck congregations.

It must be some of the most compelling television for Ghanaians, because they often attract huge viewership. These often ostentatiously dressed preachers keep their congregations spellbound, whilst the testimonies keep flowing in from all angles.

It looks more like an A-class production of Broadway more than anything else, but remains hugely influential amongst Ghanaians. It perpetuates the cycle that keeps us dependent on these Men of God, which coincidentally is the path to richness for them.

One person who has realised the dangers continued exposure to such content holds on the free thinking ability of Ghanaians is former President Jerry Rawlings, and at a program over the weekend called for something to be done about those programs, per a Ghana News Agency report.

He is reported to have called for those programs to be taken off-air by TV station owners, unless the authenticity of said miracles can be proven scientifically.

The Reason Why Africa and in Particular Ghana Does Not Make Meaningful Impact On The Biggest Stage Of Global Football!

Black-Starlets
Black-Starlets

The football fraternity in Ghana received a rather embarrassing moment few weeks ago when the U-17 team, the Black Starlet were disqualified from taking part in the next edition of the U-17 Africa tournament.

This became necessary when Cameroun protested, saying Ghana presented over age players. CAF, the governing body of football on the continent after much investigation, sanctioned Ghana.

This development has cast an indelible dent on the image of the country. The truth of the matter is, the Cameroonians are themselves culpable of the very accusation they accused Ghana of since none of their players is truly U-17 in my estimation. It is palpable their age rate is marginal and that is why they have been able to outsmart the Ghanaians.

Ghana and Nigeria boast of an enviable record of six world cup trophies between them in the under seventeen level. Ghana has gone further to break a long time jinx by winning the U-20 world cup in Egypt in 2009, a feat that has never be done before by any African side. Yes, such is the staggering record between the two powerhouses of Africa football. They have help registered a good impression about Africa’s prowess in football to the rest of the world but I dare say with much authority that Africa has done this in a dubious way, defeating the objective for which FIFA introduced this scheme 1985.

Non African participants of youth tournaments have impetuously protested about the blatant age-cheating of Africans especially Ghana and Nigeria. In Africa, our diet is heavily laden with carbohydrates so lots of people have stunted growth. Their stature and age doesn’t match hence it becomes so easy for them to infiltrate tournaments with over-age players as opposed to the whites who are very tall and “big” but  are actually young.

Koala Shopping Centre FINED for Selling EXPIRED PRODUCTS

Koala Osu
Koala Osu

Living and buying products in Ghana can really be risky—and if Koala Shopping Centre, a prominent shopping place at Osu has been selling expired products, what do you think the small shops are selling?

The La Sanitation and Motor Court has fined the Koala Shopping Centre at Osu GH¢9,600 for displaying and selling expired products.

The shopping centre was also charged with accumulating harmful objects on their premises and discharging human excreta into a public drain.

According to a report by Daily Graphic, the Chief Environmental Officer of the La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA), Mr Paul Agbagba, who was the prosecutor, said “on October 13, this year, a team of environmental and public health officers from the assembly, on a routine environmental health inspection, visited the shopping centre and in the course of their duties found expired products that had been put up for sale”.

Apparently, further checks revealed that more of the expired products were being kept in storerooms and a cold room.

Joselyn Dumas Cleans Kotobabi Township

Ghanaian actress – Joselyn Dumas – on Thursday November 6, 2014 teamed up with ‘Forces Help Ghana’ (FHG), a Foundation set up by Ghanaian born British army officers, to clean Kotobabi township.

The clean-up exercise, which involved the services of Zoomlion and the community members, was a move initiated by the actress to embolden Ghanaians to keep their surroundings clean. This, according to her, “will go a long way in eradicating the outbreak of cholera in the country.”

As part of the clean-up exercise, Miss Dumas and a public health nurse from the La Polyclinic encouraged and educated the community members on the need to always keep their locality unpolluted.

“We as citizens of Ghana do not need to embark on something big before we can do away with cholera. It’s the little things like washing our hands with soap any time we visit the lavatory & before we eat, cleaning our surroundings frequently, and disposing of garbage at the right places that matter” Joselyn stated.

One of the concerns raised by the community members is how difficult it is for them in finding a place to attend nature’s call when there is the need to do so. They therefore called on Miss Dumas to carry their message across to the government.

Lawyer Sandra Ankobiah is Not That Bad After All | See this JUDGE

Judge Maria Cozma
Judge Maria Cozma

Many of us have slammed Sandra Ankobiah for having no professional decency when it comes to what she wears–calling her all sorts of names for the way she dresses.

As a lawyer, we expect her not to dress or behave a certain way—certainly not like the way Christabel Ekeh or Mzbel will dress. But it seems Sandra Ankobiah is not bad after all.

The above photo was shared by a newly-appointed Moldovan judge Maria Cozma, 27. And even though she looks banging, she has been rebuked by her peers for posting the busty shot on social media of herself wearing skimpy swimwear.

Christian Pakistani Couple Beating and Burnt to Death By Muslim Mob for Allegedly Desecrating the Koran

WTF
WTF

Religious people have never been the most accommodating of opposing views, and some Muslims take that to alarming levels that lead to incidents even worse than this on an almost daily basis.

IS and Boko Haram are just two of the most prominent now, but in the past Al-Qaeda and others have also taken the mantle of radical Islamic groups hell bent on bringing destruction to the world in the name of their fictional God.

I’ve never understood why with all this power he’s supposed to have, God requires such rigorous defence from his followers? I mean he’s omnipotent, and we’ve seen from the Bible he doesn’t mind getting his hand dirty from time to time, so how about leave him to defend himself from the blasphemous?
