A newly discovered galaxy has been named ‘CR7’, in honour of the three time world player of the year.

Astronomers of the European Southern Observatory discovered a galaxy that’s apparently very old and that played a crucial part in the formation of the early universe.

They named the discovery ‘CR7’ to honour the footballer. However, it also has astronomical connotations, standing for Cosmic Redshift 7.

This Venezuelan tv presenter is certainly too hot to handle. She works for the TV staion ‘Desunado da noticia’ in Venezuala, and she had an unorthodox way of reporting the news of their shocking Copa America win over Columbia.

She stripped whilst giving the news, right on air.

Turns out this is quite what this station is known for. In preparation for the tournament, they released another video pledging to strip for every stage their team was able to progress past in the tournament. Talk about being motivated.

One committee out, another committee in. In Ghana it seems like our magic wand to solving any issue is to set up a commission.

The June 3rd floods and the subsequent fire explosion led to massive loss of life amongst Ghanaians, and the clamour for real change in the aftermath has been real.

Government have made some half hearted moves, demolishing structures and the like, but nothing pointing towards real change. And in that vein they have set up a commission to investigate the fire.

North West Had A Fab Birthday: Family Goes To Disneyland

The Wests remain intent on having the best time money can buy on their birthdays. Kim recently rented out the LA Staples centre for Kanye’s birthday, and of course North cannot have anything less.

So for her 2nd birthday, which was yesterday June 15, the family went on to Disneyland to have one huge bash.

In attendance was most of that huge family, minus Khloe and Kris. There was a party for North inside the park with lunch and cake, and there was lots of balloons. Guests were asked not to bring a gift- but instead were given passes so they could skip the lines on all the rides at the park. It was a jolly good day all around.

Chris Rock and wife Malaak are in court trying to agree on the final monetary settlements of their impending divorce.

The pair announced last year that they’re divorcing, and now the wheels for that long process is turning. They have agreed to 50-50 child custody; but it’s now left with the little issue of how much of Rock’s $70m fortune his wife is entitled to.

Court documents sighted by Page Six shows Malaak making a case to receive a huge chunk of the fortune: she says she gave up a career to raise their kids, and to keep herself busy did charity work on the side.

Bobbi Kristina To Be Sent Home To Die Peacefully

Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston’s daughter is to be taken home by her family from the care facility she’s in so that ‘she can die peacefully’.

Bobbi Kristina has been in a medically induced coma since February when she was discovered unresponsive in a bathtub. Since then her family has always disagreed on the right course of action, with some favouring taking her off life support because doctors say there’s little hope she’ll recover; but her father Bobby Brown holds on and hopes for a miracle.

Recent reports indicate that mindset might have changed. Daily Mail reports the family is planning to take Bobbi Kristina off life support, and bring her home to die in peace.

The Goil Station That Exploded During The Flood Got Graded ‘A’ By The NPA: So Who F*cked Up?

The recent flood has raised so many concerns amongst Ghanaians, including about the locating of fuel stations in very crowded localities.

Some speculated that those supposed to check these things did not, or that the fuel station had problems that went undetected. However the managing director of GOIL has come out to say that wasn’t the case.

The Managing Director of GOIL, Mr Patrick Akorli, said that the National Petroleum Authority just inspected them in February, and they gave them an ‘A’ grade.

According to GraphicOnline:

“In February 2015, the NPA did a complete audit of the station. The station scored 93 per cent, thereby making it a grade A Station,” the Managing Director of GOIL, Mr Patrick Akorli, has stated.

Mr Akorli said the fuel station, which was the third highest selling station on GOIL’s list, was established in 1963.

“It underwent a major renovation in 2015,” he disclosed.
Pressure tests, which are conducted every five years, were performed on that filling station in 2013.

Beyonce Sued By One Of Her Former Background Singers Who Claims She Stole ‘XO’ From Him

Ahmad Lane, who used to be a background singer for Beyonce, is suing the legendary singer for allegedly stealing her hit song ‘XO’ from her.

Lane claims he wrote the original song, tentatively titled ‘XOXO’, and passed it to a fellow background singer. His lawsuit infers the singer passed it on to Beyonce, who used it to write the song that appears on her album ‘Beyonce’.

Beyonce response, according to RadarOnline, is that there is nothing similar between the tracks aside ‘XO’ appearing in the titles. She also adds through her lawyers that the claims are ‘vague and cryptic’, and that she’s an internationally recognised artiste who has won 17 Grammy Awards and sold 118 million records.

Black Stars Comfortably Dispatch Mauritius In Opening AFCON Qualifier

The Black Stars opened their 2017 African Cup qualification campaign with the best possible start, easily seeing off Mauritius by 7-1.

Braces from Asamoah Gyan and Jordan Ayew, complemented by a goal for Christian Atsu, and maiden international goals for Jeffrey Schlupp and David Accam completed the romp in Accra.

Ghana was heavy favourites, and never looked in danger at no point during the game. After Atsu headed the team in front, there was no looking back for the Stars against what was a vastly inferior opposing side.

Asamoah Gyan added two quick goals after Jordan had scored Ghana’s second.. Mauritius scored their consolation when Ghana was four ahead, a cross into the box completely misjudged by goalkeeper Fatau Dauda to hand Sophie the easiest of tap-ins.

Black Stars Kicks Off 2017 African Cup Qualifiers With Home Tie Against Mauritius

The Black Stars are back in action on Sunday as they kick off their African Cup qualifiers against Mauritius.

This is the first competitive fixture for the team after the disappointing loss in the final of the previous tournament barely six months ago.

And to challenge us is the Mauritius national team, a true minnow on the continent but not a guaranteed win for Ghana. If Ghana has shown anything it is that we often fail to raise our game unless the stakes are appropriately high enough.

And they aren’t, not in the opening fixture anyway. There are five more games after this one against reasonably inferior opposition and the fear is that complacency would lead to a stale performance tomorrow.

Against Burkina Faso in 2006, against Zambia in the last world cup qualifiers, against Sudan- the Black Stars have shown a proclivity for not being good starters. That is what coach Grant must fight against tomorrow.
