Ghanaian musician-Becca has taken her ‘Menstrual Hygiene” education took Kumasi–where she educated over 1000 students on Friday, 26th May, 2017 at the Jubilee Park.
The Becca Hearts Foundation together with “Touching the Lives of Girls Foundation International” have partnered to put together this initiative with a mutual aim to educate girls on female hygiene (hygienic menstrual practices).

Yesterday, actress-Christabel Ekeh dropped a huge smile on the faces of the children of Teshie Orphanage by donating a range of necessities—including Toiletries, Oil, Detergents, Bags of rice, Cups, Boxes of Indomie, Drinks, Biscuits and Clothes to the orphanage for the upkeep of the children.
The actress who was accompanied by friends and family added a cash of thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 1000) to the items donated.
After the donation, Christabel Ekeh said; “I am very happy within myself for being able to do a thing like this, I pray for strength and also pray that, just the same way it came to my thoughts to come here and help these orphans, others can be inspired by it.”

Excellence In Broadcasting (EIB) Network’s CEO-Nathaniel Anokye Adisi (Bola Ray) has led a team of officials from EIB Network, StarLife & Unibank to donate GHC55,000 to the victims of the recent Accra Flood and Goil Filling Station blast at Korle Bu and Ridge Hospitals.
Out of the GHC 55,000, the Ridge hospital received GHC25,000 on behalf of the victims with the reminder going to the Korle Bu hospital—all meant to be used to cater for the medical needs of victims.
During the donation exercise, Bola Ray who was moved to tears by the suffering and state of the victims called on the hospitals to ensure that the monies go direct towards the welfare and well-being of the victims.
2015 Yak-Dan National Wheelchair Tennis Camp for Persons Living with Physical Disabilities
Under the auspices of Ghana Tennis Federation, Yak-Dan Group of Companies, Pricelessmom Foundation, One Yogo, and Cruyff Foundation, the 2015 Yak-Dan National Wheelchair Tennis Juniors Camp was successfully held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi over the weekend.
The event, which had the theme “Breaking Barriers for Persons with Disability through Wheelchair Tennis”, attracted several children with physical disability in Ghana.
For the first time in the lives of disabled children from the Orthopedic Training Centre (OTC), Physically Challenged Action Foundation (PCAF), Garden City Special Schools, and Ghana Society for the Physically Disabled (GSPD), these children were introduced to wheelchair tennis.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Executive Director of Yak-Dan Shipping Company Limited – Mr. Daniel Nii Mensah – said introducing children with physical disabilities to wheelchair tennis is a stepping stone for all those who want to choose tennis as a career in sport.
“Getting them at this stage and with what I’ve seen, I believe that it’s a stepping stone for the children who want to do tennis even as a career in sports and we are all in to support this good cause,” he stated.
The National Coordinator of Ghana Wheelchair Tennis, Mr. Henry Larbi, called on all corporate and developmental organizations to support Ghana Wheelchair Tennis.
Two physically challenged children, Francis Acquah and Gafaru Mohammed, were selected among over 50 participants at the end of the clinic to represent Ghana at the prestigious ITF Johan Cruyff Africa Regional Juniors Camp in South Africa from September 28 to October 5, 2015.
Ghana Wheelchair Tennis (GWT), in partnership with Pricelessmom Foundation, is set to organise a historic 2nd National Juniors Wheelchair Tennis Clinic dubbed ‘2015 YakDan National Wheelchair Tennis Camp’ for children with disability aged between 12 to 18 years at the Kumasi Sports stadium Tennis Court on Saturday, 30 May, from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Under the auspices of Ghana Tennis Federation and the International Tennis Federation, with support from the Johan Cruyff Foundation in the Netherlands and the Ashanti Regional Tennis Association, the GWT aims to change perceptions about people with disability and breaking barriers through the programme.
About 70 children with physical disability and other types of disability accompanied by their respective sports masters are expected to take part in the fun filled exercise under the theme, “Breaking Barriers through Wheelchair Tennis.”

Ghanaian rapper-Eazzy joined and the Hypenet foundation over the Easter holidays in Eastern Region to donate and spend time with the visually impaired students of AKUAPEMMAN secondary school.
They donated sum of money to enable the repair and maintenance of technical equipment, a new sound system to aid in lecturing and learning for the visually impaired and also refreshments to celebrate the Easter Monday.

Ahuofe Patri Donates to Children At Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital
Ahuofe Patri who has become some sort of celebrity—courtesy YouTube and the Boys Kasa short comedy videos, donated several items to children admitted to the At Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on her birthday.
Surely, it’s good that Ahoufe Patri has recognised the need to give back in her little way to society as a rising star—something most of our celebrities seem to be doing on an annual basis.

Apart from the fact that there is more blessing in giving than receiving, helping those who are genuinely in need is what makes us humans—and for Bola Ray, real name-Kwabena Anokye Adisi, this means a lot to him than most privileged Ghanaians.
As part of his annual donation geared towards elevating the situations of children in need, Bola Ray who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Starr 103.5 FM has donated a Mitsubishi Pajero to the SOS Children’s village in Tema.
Considering the financial constraints those in charge of the orphanage have to work with, Bola Ray and his Empire Foundation have made it a duty to help supplant provision of the needs of the children on a regular basis, hence Sunday’s donation exercise.
“Apart from the Pajero, other items that were donated include bags of rice, washing powder, packs of indomie, exercise books, toiletries, drinking water, packs of soft drink and an undisclosed amount of money” reports StarrFmOnline.Com.

There is never a better way for someone to put smiles on the faces of others than to spend quality time with them.
This is exactly what versatile Ghanaian actress, Nana Ama McBrown, with support from Taabea Herbal Mixture – chose to do this year as part of her social responsibilities as she celebrated the New Year with children of Mampong Babies Home – an orphanage established in 1967 and situated at Mampong in the Ashanti Region.

Today, the Juliet Ibrahim Foundation (JIF), lead by Juliet Ibrahim, her mum; Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Ibrahim and her sister Sonia Ibrahim made time out to put smiles on the faces of 5 patients with hronic liver ailments by donating funds raised from the annual JIF Charity Halloween party held in Accra on the 1st November.
Some of the beneficiaries have either one damaged kidney or two and go through gruelling dialysis sessions 3 to 2 times a week and may do that for the rest of their lives till they can get donors and raise funds for kidney transplant someday.
Whilst having a kidney transplant remains a dream for most of them , JIF still tries in their own little way to lend helping hands to people suffering from kidney related ailments by creating awareness through public service campaign, community and online education and also by payiny for dialysis treatments.
Ghanaian actress – Joselyn Dumas – on Thursday November 6, 2014 teamed up with ‘Forces Help Ghana’ (FHG), a Foundation set up by Ghanaian born British army officers, to clean Kotobabi township.
The clean-up exercise, which involved the services of Zoomlion and the community members, was a move initiated by the actress to embolden Ghanaians to keep their surroundings clean. This, according to her, “will go a long way in eradicating the outbreak of cholera in the country.”
As part of the clean-up exercise, Miss Dumas and a public health nurse from the La Polyclinic encouraged and educated the community members on the need to always keep their locality unpolluted.
“We as citizens of Ghana do not need to embark on something big before we can do away with cholera. It’s the little things like washing our hands with soap any time we visit the lavatory & before we eat, cleaning our surroundings frequently, and disposing of garbage at the right places that matter” Joselyn stated.
One of the concerns raised by the community members is how difficult it is for them in finding a place to attend nature’s call when there is the need to do so. They therefore called on Miss Dumas to carry their message across to the government.
