Asamoah Gyan is reported to have bought this house

GhanaCelebrities.Com has been reliably told that, the above house which certain sections of the media reported as having been bought by Ghanaian football star- Asamoah Gyan for $3 million is not located at MCcarthy Hill in Accra where they placed it—rather it’s at KASOA.

According to our source who also gave us the below photos, the house is situated near Kasoa, a little after the toll booth on your way into Central Region and that the house was built by blockfields Ghana LTD.

For those who know the Accra-Kasoa road, after you have passed Gospel Light junction, take a further 10 minutes drive and you will see the Densu river behind the house on your right hand side of the road.

A few months ago, Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi (Bola Ray) and Kwabena Duffor’s Excellence In Broadcasting (EIB) Networks acquired Accra based radio station-Live 91.9 Fm—and they’ve just not imported pinnacle presenters to the station, the studios have received a complete renovation.

Currently, the radio station houses Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), Jeremie Van-Garshong, MsNaa, Jay Foley, Sammy Forson, Antoine Mensah and several others—driving the youthful airwaves in a fierce assault on already existing youth friendly brands like YFM…

PHOTOS: The Beautiful Yachts & Boats from Cannes | “Jackie Appiah’s” Own Was Still Out There

Yachts & Boats from Cannes
Yachts & Boats from Cannes

The 68th Cannes Film Festival came to an END over the weekend after several great films made it to the festival this year. As a film critic, my best film from this year’s Cannes is Pete Docter’s ‘Inside Out’.

While at Cannes, I walked pass the beautiful-expensive Yachts and Boats each day to the festival grounds and just as I did last year, I decided to capture some photos of these ‘small water houses’ for those who love them—and plan on buying one at the right time.

The ‘Jackie One’ yacht which I jokingly attributed to Ghanaian star actress-Jackie Appiah last year was still out there…

ALL THE PHOTOS FROM the #DumsorMustStop Vigil | Led By Actress-Yvonne Nelson & Others

DumsorMustStop Vigil in Accra-Ghana
DumsorMustStop Vigil in Accra-Ghana

Finally, finally, the much anticipated vigil of our time – #DumsorMustStop Vigil – has come to an end. As some Ghanaians already know, the purpose of this protest march from Legon to Tetteh Quarshie was to mount pressure on the sitting government to find a lasting solution to the erratic power supply and the current energy crisis the country is facing.

What started as a result of a single tweet from actress Yvonne Nelson ended up gaining massive support from some fellow celebrities and several Ghanaians who are also going through the same ‘dumsor’ ordeal.

Even though Yvonne Nelson and her team were expecting about 500 people to join them for the protest, thousands of irate Ghanaians turned out to support the cause. Interestingly, comedian David Oscar, who announced on his Facebook wall that it would be hypocritical of him to be part of the #DumsorMustStop campaign, was present at the venue.

IN PHOTOS: All-Round Filthy Gutters in the Capital | Why Accra Still Records the Highest Cases of Cholera in Ghana in this 21st Century

Accra, Capital of Ghana

Seriously, Accra is more than qualified to be ranked among the many African cities that truly understand dirtiness – and I mean real dirtiness. If you’ve had the opportunity to live in Ghana’s finest capital city before, this assertion will not sound eccentric to you.

From the homes of many Ghanaians living in Accra to the streets, one thing that you’re sure to come across is filth, most of it being sachet water rubbers. It is not surprising that Accra still records the highest cases of cholera in Ghana in this 21st century.

Mind you, the Mayor of Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Dr. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuye was recently adjudged Africa’s Best Mayor for developing the capital city. Development indeed! And a billboard was even mounted in Accra to welcome our Mayor back after a trip to receive his award in Angola. Dumping of garbage in gutters without any restriction is a norm in Ghana and as such, people gladly adhere to this rule – from the law enforcer to the layman on the street.

Accra, Capital of Ghana

GhanaCelebrities.Com decided to visit some areas in the capital and check out how clean Ghanaians keep their gutters. Our ratings, on a scale of 0 – 100, might give the impression that we are mean to Ghanaians so we will allow you to do the ratings after glancing through the photos.

GC Exclusive: A Look Inside Starr Fm 103.5 | It’s Just Not All About the Star Presenters…They’ve A Star Ambience Too…

Starr Fm-Accra
Starr Fm-Accra

EIB Network’s mother station-Starr Fm 103.5 was recently named the most listened to English speaking radio station in the greater Accra region—and we’ve already looked at why the station has become the people’s favourite. (If You Missed That Article, CLICK HERE).

When it comes to radio broadcast, all listeners can attest to the excellent sound and programmes they receive but we hardly get to see where all the voices are coming from; the working atmosphere. As such, GhanaCelebrities.Com visited Accra based Starr FM, stationed in the Meridian House, near the Nima Police Station-Ring Road Central to bring you exclusive photos of the ambience where the action takes place.

Starr Fm-Accra

As expected, it’s a beautiful and well put together working environment, clean and warm for the presenters and all the workers—no doubt their excellence is felt even in our homes.

Surely, it’s not just the star presenters who are driving the success of the station; it’s the star environment which warms the spirit of all the workers to deliver their best. They say, the environment you work within speaks a lot about your output and Starr Fm has definitely taken note of that…

Time to SUPPORT As A Reader + Big Opportunity for Your Business | Sponsor GhanaCelebrities.Com’s 2015 Cannes Film Festival Coverage…

Cannes-Film-Festival-75
Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri (Editor, GhanaCelebrities.Com)

March 4, 2015

Hey Guys,

Two companies have already expressed interest in buying sponsorship package for GhanaCelebrities.Com’s coverage of this year’s Cannes Film Festival—and even though we are still talking, I am excited they’ve expressed interest in taking up some of the bills off our shoulders.

Also, one of my friends have donated 500 dollars already—and I have received messages from some appreciative readers asking if they can chip in individual donations aside the corporate sponsorship I am looking for. Of course, YES. Why Not?

Last year, my Cannes trip was partially financed by individual readers who love the work we do out here on the blog but this year, I decided to go in for corporate sponsorship as the budget is a little big but I didn’t think about merging corporate sponsorship and readers’ donations until I got an email this morning from a reader asking if she can chip in.

So for those readers who LOVE the crazy work we do on GhanaCelebrities.Com—ranging from the thought provoking articles to gossip, this is the time to show your damn appreciation. Stop being stingy and throw in some coins by clicking the donate button below…

update

For the 68th Cannes Film Festival, GhanaCelebrities.Com has been invited by the Press Office of the film festival—to attend the prestigious film festival this year again.

I am looking for a corporate sponsorship to the Cannes Film Festival 2015—and for this sponsorship, any article we will publish from Cannes during the festival period will mention the sponsor below it (Something like; this article is sponsored by blah blah—with a little info on the sponsor).

Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri at Cannes

Why should anyone want to sponsor this?

Apart from the Cannes Film Festival being the biggest film festival in the world which means such a sponsorship and mention would bring you a lot of new people who would be searching to read about the festival —GhanaCelebrities.Com receives over 1.2 million pageviews a month, and mentioning you below all our Cannes related articles is the best publicity/advertisement deal you would ever have.

Mel Gibson, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford

Apart from GhanaCelebrities.Com, none of the known African websites/blogs cover the Cannes Film Festival directly each year (they all depend on western media for their reports)—and so, your business sponsorship or association with our first hand coverage which gets picked by countless blogs and websites would surely fetch you more than we anticipate.

Press Accreditation

Last year, we published about 46 articles on the Cannes Film Festival—most were exclusive content such as when I bumped into Kill Bill director- Quentin Tarantino and when I met the entire cast of Expendables 3 at their Press Photo Call; they came with a real war tank.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, let us know or email: [email protected] or call +447837576037…

If you are in Ghana and you want to sponsor or donate; call 0249175012

Star Wars – The Force Awakens
Star Wars – The Force Awakens

With the movie awards season out of the way, it’s time to look ahead to the rest of the year and see what film treats we have awaiting us.

Avengers – The Age of Ultron

Marvel is swiftly becoming the go-to name for summer blockbusters. And with the release of the next instalment of the Avengers franchise due later this year, it seems that Marvel will want to top the amazing $330 million it made in America alone from Guardians of the Galaxy last year.

So far the Age of Ultron promises all of the intense action that we’ve come to expect from this series with the superheroes tackling a crime-fighting robot gone haywire called Ultron.

Writers Wanted

With over 1.2 million pageviews a month, GhanaCelebrities.Com is just not the blog to read—but also, the blog to contribute to and be heard if you are good with putting words together…

Some say we are controversial, others say we are brutal—but we think we are honest and we just don’t care about what people really think, we say what we feel and our conscience can’t be BOUGHT.

We may not stand for a lot of things but we surely do stand for ‘untainted integrity’. With our words, we cut through all the bull and fail to coat the bitter with sugar—we say it as it is. Honesty has become scare these days so we are holding onto last portion of the concoction.

As the founding Editor, I tell all my writers, contributors and columnists exactly what Kepler said to Galileo; “I very much prefer the sharpest criticism of a single wise man to the thoughtless approval of the masses”.

If you stand for the truth or you have what it takes to write for a great audience from all around the world always looking for something interest to read, we are taking on board contributors and columnist for 2015…
