Krobo and fanti born singer, Belinda Nana Akua Amoah is one of the three special front cover on the first edition of the DUST (the other two are Mensa and Wanlov the Kubolor), an informative and interactive magazine. Dust is a new magazine about Accra, by Accra, for Accra.
Answering questions about her dressing when performing on stage, Mzbel told DUST “What I wear on stage is strictly for show business. You know? When I’m on stage, its like I’m in my office and I have to wear my uniform”.
She plays down the call for her to wear something not revealing especially when she is on stage. “If I come on stage in African fabric and I can’t move, people will say I’m confused. I don’t want to look like the people who came to see me; I want to look different, like an artist. I want to entertain. That’s exactly what I do and people always complain”.
She further said “You don’t expect a doctor or the nurse to be wearing what you want them to. They wear their uniforms when they are in the hospital and remove it when they are not. When you go to the beach you can’t say ‘because I’m an African, I will wear kaba and slit to swim. This is not our culture so I will wear batakari to swim’.

Tick tock, tick tock as the clock moves, the D-day for the Ghana Music Awards draws closer and closer.
With less than ten days for the main event at the over six thousand capacity giant Dome at the Accra International Conference Centre, nobody has been named yet, to MC for the biggest entertainment show on the nation’s calendar.
The Ghana Music Awards, which has been running consistently for the past eleven years now, had Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show host, Kwami Sefa Kayi (Chairman), as the MC for the first eight years of the event ( from 1999-2007). However, Charter House, organizers of the event changed the MC in 2008 “experimented” with Samini and Joy Fm’s “Lunch Time Rhythms” host Doreeh Andoh as MCs.
I am always upset and disappointed when it comes to the kind of lies celebrities put in the media for their fans. Do you remember my write up when Yvonne Nelson bragged that she bought her dress for the premiere of the movie “Princess Bride” at a cost of 2550 Euros ?
Yes, I knew home girl was lying and was trying to hype her super ego by attaching some sky-scraping price to that cheap attire she wore that night. (Read that article and check the dress from here)
Leading Ghanaian boxer, Joshua Clottey, has denied allegations that he caused the failure of the relationship between him and mother of his only daughter.
According to him, he is not one of those celebrities who open their doors for every woman, just because they want to have their way. Joshua said the collapse of his marriage was due to this mother-in-law and stressed that he should not be blamed for having a child without a wife.
The boxer, who lost his last fight against Manny Pacquiao, made the comments during an encounter with a section of Ghana’s local press at a small welcome party organized on his behalf by Ruff ‘N’ Smooth, a hip life duo, at Bola Ray’s Empire Entertainment.
These two ladies are very beautiful and well structured. They have the package, the beauty and the talent to act. I’m sure you will agree with me if you’ve seen any of their movies.
Genevieve has been in the film industry for a very long time and she is good at what she does. Guess experience has even made her better. She is one of my favorites African actresses. But lately I think there is something about her that is missing. She used to shine in very movie she featured.
However, the spark we used to see to me is disappearing slowly. Nevertheless she is still good.
After projecting chart busting song ‘Swagger’ onto the international platform when he danced to the tune as he entered the ring recently to fight Manny Pacquiao in Texas, Ghanaian boxer Joshua Clottey says he has big plans for ‘Swagger boys’ Ruff ‘N’ Smooth.

US-based Ghanaian music producer, Coptic continues to work his magic and rapper Memphis Bleek is one of the latest artists to work with the talented beat maker. Coptic’s well crafted production on the title track, ‘The Process’, sets the tone for the rejuvenated rapper to reintroduce his aggressive flow to the masses on his Mass Appeal debut.
Memphis Bleek describes the album as: “You know people argue over it’s The Understanding or M.A.D.E. is my best album, but this new album is killing all of that because it’s the truth, it’s everything. Like, when you hear the story ‘The Process,’ everything that started like the first day when I got that sheet of paper from Jay and ended up in Clark Kent’s house, to the
breakup, to now, when people hear that and how I explain everything, that one song it’s gon’ make people day. It’s gon’ make
It looks like event organizers do not fear ‘rains’ messing their programmes anymore. These days all the entertainment shows in Accra end with one thing in common; LIGHTS OFF. If a show doesn’t end unceremoniously because of incessant power cuts, it will end amidst power on and off for several times.
The outdooring of Zigi at the Aphrodisiac Night Club in Accra, the launch of hip life rap trio V.I.P. (Vision In Progress) new album at the Boomerang Night Club and pre-Val’s Day Bash with Obrafour & Tema’s Finest at Groove Control Night Club in Tema were all disturbed by unexpected light offs.
