Man Arrested for Raping and Having a Child with His Daughter

You can never account for the callousness or just sheer wickedness of some people. Because to think of it that must be a person’s mental state, or they are just sick, before they can carry out some of the actions this man is alleged to have done.

40 year old Edem Fedieley has been arrested by police in Adentan for sleeping with his 17 year old daughter. Fedieley is believed to have fathered a child on her, whilst keeping her captive for years so he could satisfy his unnatural urges whenever it comes upon him.

Graphic Online reports the girl run away from the house one morning, having become fed up with the constant abuse. He father then reported his daughter missing to the police, and she was later picked up at the house of a young man she had befriended.

The man, 19, was initially charged with abduction, but the girl told police her father had been abusing and she thus sought refuge with him. This led to the man being released and her father being arrested.

He is reported to have admitted everything during police interrogations.

The Islamist terrorist group do not look like slowing down anytime soon, as reports indicate they captured around 100 young men and boys in Doron Baga, a village in Borno State.

Punch reported yesterday that the group attacked the village last Sunday, during which 10 people were killed. In the aftermath, it emerged that 100 young men and boys had been captured by Boko Haram.

It is believed the group plans to forcefully recruit the abductees into their midst and have them do, whatever it is they do.

Survivors fled the village and narrated their ordeal to journalists, one woman in particular who said they had to flee because there continued to be constant attacks on their village.

She said she lost six family members in the latest attack alone, and revealed the group captured 100 boys and young men.

Boko Haram has been a thorn in the side of Nigerian authorities for a while now, particularly in April when they attracted worldwide attention after capturing over 200 young girls.

That sparked the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, yet unfortunately to this day officials are no closer to finding neither the girls nor the terrorist organisation causing so much havoc.

Man Kills Mum for Using Witchcraft to Stall His Progress in NIgeria

I find impossible to fathom that a person would raise their hand against their own mother, much less kill them; and even more difficult to digest considering his reason is that his mum was a witch.

That is the dilemma 29 year old Ekene Ucheagwu has to contend with, as police paraded him through the streets after being charged with killing his 69 year old mother.

Ekene confessed to the act, saying he had to kill her because she was preventing the spirit of God from coming into the family. His mum had allegedly cursed all her children (six, with two already dead), such that they could not progress in life, and the ladies could not even get married.

Now that the mum is dead, maybe Ekene can show us the spirit of God that the old lady was preventing from entering into the family?

The Bible tells us that during the end times, fake prophets would spring up everywhere, thus going by that yardstick we must be at the very end of time, because it seems everywhere you turn these days you said nothing but false prophets.

You see them on television, you hear them deep into the night disturbing your sleep; the entire planet is saturated with them. One of these fine specimens has landed himself in deep trouble in Nigeria, as his heinous actions has seen him arraigned before a Yaba Magistrates Court.

The Daily Post of Nigeria reports 23 year old Adewale Adeleke was arraigned before court on four charges of stealing, obtaining by false pretext, impersonation, and rape.

Adewale is a self professed prophet of the Celestial Church of Nigeria and according to the prosecutor, used his position and influence to extort N13, 000 from the victim and forcibly have sex with her.

Narrating the facts of the case, Prosecutor Chris Takim said the accused met the victim on the premises of Original Inn Hotel at Ebute Meta on July 26 and approached her, informing her about a supposed spiritual problem she had.

Adeleke told her they should meet for a prayer session, and asked her to pay the N13, 000 as mobilisation fees.

A Top South African politician and anti-apartheid activist-Pallo Jordan has resigned as an MP after it emerged his academic qualifications were fake.

A former minister, he first served under ex-President Nelson Mandela and is generally referred to as Dr Jordan.

But media reports said he had lied on his CV about having a doctorate.

The governing African National Congress (ANC) said Mr Jordan had apologised for “deceiving government and the people of South Africa for many years”.

After all the suspected Ebola cases in Ghana proved negative, Ghanaians can continue to heave a collective sigh of relief over a dodged bullet. The situation, however, remains dire in our neighbouring West African countries.

Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea seem to have had the worst impact so far. The situation has become so terrible in Liberia corpses are reportedly left to rot by roadsides, due to fear of contracting the disease through handling of the bodies.

It seems there is some good news on the horizon for Liberia, though, after Pharmaceutical giants Mapp announced its store of the experimental Ebola cure Zmapp was exhausted, as it had all been sent to West Africa to help in the treatment of the deadly virus.

Zmapp is the experimental cure that was used on two US aid workers, who has since shown signs of improvement and continue to be monitored. The drug, according to the company was provided at no cost to the Liberian government.

The intervention came through after Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf made a plea to the US government, who according to the BBC, simply put them in touch with Mapp Pharmaceuticals.

Game of Thrones’ Season 4 ended on an unpredictable note; a planned escape of Tyrion Lannister by his brother-Jaime Lannister led to Tyrion murdering their father-Tywin Lannister.

With Tywin, the strongest hold on King’s Landing dead, the capital will obviously be vulnerable when Season 5 returns next year. Meaning, there will surely be a political shake-up in Season 5.

Zap2it caught up with Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (who plays Jaime Lannister) at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 and asked him what Jaime’s reaction to Tywin’s death will be in the next Season…

“Shock,” he replied. “Because that was not the plan. The plan was to help Tyrion escape.”

The Danish actor added that; “Also, on a political scale it’s a disaster because Tywin was so powerful”.

“[Jaime] understands that it is not good for the safety of Cersei and Tommen and the Lannisters.”

‘Double Your Money’ Fetish Priest and Nephew Murdered for Failure to Deliver

Six young men have found themselves in hot water today after they were arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of a chief priest and his nephew after the two failed to deliver on their promise to double their money.

The six are believed to have given to the fetish priest, Nana Asare Obinim, a cool GHc 10,000 for him to increase to an even cooler GHc 100,000.

According to the Nkawkaw District Police Commander, DSP Gyabeng Manu, the alleged act is believed to have occurred on July 30, when the six made their umpteenth visit to the chief priest’s house but could not get him to give them the increased money or even their initial deposit of GHc 10,000.

An ensuing misunderstanding led to some heated arguments, during which Nana Obinim and his nephew Owusu, are believed to have been killed.

The suspects carried the bodies to the community cemetery for burial, but were later arrested by police. They remain in custody as police conduct further investigations.

The six suspects range in age between 17-22. Leaving aside the question as to how they raised such a colossal sum, the bigger question is why they felt the need to have the money increased without any significant work on their part. What deformities do they have that they cannot invest the money in some good honest work to yield them some profits?

I never understand people’s desperation for spiritual remedies in their lives, a sort of miracle cure to all their ills in this world prescribed to them by a ‘man of God’.

We after all, frown on cheating in any other endeavour of our lives. Yet people seek these spiritual means to give them an advantage over other people, whether for a job, or a husband, or any of those miracles these preachers advertise to us all the time.

A woman in Nigeria found herself in deep anguish today after her actions led to the death of her two kids in Delta State.

The Public Relations Officer of the Delta Police Command, revealed the details of the case in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria.

The woman, 25 year old Ese Oghenevwe, confessed to the Police that she had given a liquid substance she received from church to her two children to drink. The substance was advertised as having healing powers and was sold to members of the congregation for 1,850 Naira (around $10)

The two children, who died shortly after drinking this ‘holy water’, were aged nine months and two years.

The Delta Police Command also announced that the pastor in question, one Apostle Austin Eduviere of Triumphant World International Church in Abraka, had also been arrested and he was assisting the police in their investigations.

I have written several articles about how disappointed Ghana has become in fact and in the eyes of its own citizens—both home and abroad, and now I feel like there is no point in keeping up with these write-ups.

This is because; I keep pointing out the same set of problems, perpetuated by the same gang of people in charge of affairs—without anything changing.

I was sent a link to an article written by ‘The Finder’ newspaper which mentions that, there are still schools in Ghana where pupils sit on piled-up blocks to learn—and I asked myself, so this is 21^st century Ghana…right?

And to think that this is the same country with Ministers driving in “excessively” expensive cars, the same country that flew millions of dollars to Brazil makes me wonder if we ever understand the concept of having priorities as people…

According to the report, the condition in which pupils at “Amenam Local Authority Primary and Junior High School study hoping that the education they receive will ensure a better future for them is beyond deplorable”.

Air Algerie Passenger Plane Carrying 116 People Crashes | Not FOUND Yet…

Air travel is becoming very scary all around the world as plans continue to get lost in the air or crash—in large numbers. Today, a passenger jet which vanished from radar over northern Mali in West Africa is reported by Algerian aviation official to have crashed…

Two French fighter jets are currently in the air searching for the Air Algerie plane which was carrying 110 passengers and six crew.

The Flight AH5017 is owned by Spanish private airline Swiftair and operated by Air Algerie. Swiftair said the aircraft took off from Burkina Faso at 1.17am local time and was supposed to land in Algiers at 5.10am local time but never reached its destination.

The plane was travelling from Burkina Faso’s capital Ouagadougou to the Algerian capital Algiers when it vanished around 50 minutes into the flight.

It is reported that, the on board pilot asked for permission to change route because of a sand storm just 20 minutes into the flight—and that was it…

A certain UK based Lydia Frempong who boasts on her website about her ‘extensive’ experience in the life coach sector and as a well-established entrepreneur with a PR firm has found herself at the other side of the law—-guilty of fraud.

The life coach pretended she was unemployed even though she was hired by UK TV network-Channel 4 give confidence lessons to its employees so that she could swindle £5,000 in false benefits by claims.

Lydia who lives at Surrey is as appeared on DailyMail for claiming more than £4,500 in Jobseeker’s Allowance and more than £500 in Council Tax Benefit, “despite a raft of experience as an events organiser and ‘confidence coach’”.

The Camberwell Green Magistrates’ court heard how Lydia Frempong scammed taxpayers out of Council Tax Benefit and Jobseeker’s Allowance, between July 2012 and January 2013, and the entrepreneur pleaded guilty to two charges of dishonestly failing to notify Sutton Council about a change in her circumstances, which meant she was no longer entitled to the benefits.

The Sun reports that an emergency meeting was held at Afuze, Edo over the challenges facing the country, especially the nation’s security.

Revealed to them in an interview with spokesman for Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria (WITZAN), Dr. Okhue Iboi.

He said,

“Witches and Wizards in Nigeria are deeply worried by what is going on in the country especially Boko Haram insurgency. As stakeholders in the Nigerian project, we can no longer afford to fold our hands while the nation burns. Enough is enough” Iboi said at the event.
