Africa’s top musical stars- Wizkid, 2face Idibia, Mafikizolo, 4×4, Edem, MzVee and others will tonight rock the Hennessy Artistry Concert—and after their performances, they will all head to Reggie Rockstone’sDJANGO Bar, the official after party joint…
And you are invited to join the stars and the decent crowd for the Hennessy Artistry Concert’sAfter Party—where you will get to meet, greet and hangout with the stars.
DJANGO Bar is Ghana’s hottest celebrity and decent crowd hangout joint which means apart from the above stars, Reggie Rockstone and several other Ghanaian celebrities will be out there tonight.
The foreign artistes have already touched down and those in Ghana have no where to run to—so it is a date tonight and you shouldn’t MISS the Hennessy Artistry Concert for anything.
This is the first time the Hennessy Artistry Concert is coming to Ghana and with Wizkid, 2face Idibia, Mafikizolo, 4×4, Edem, MzVee & Others billed to mount one big stage to thrill patrons, it’s definitely going to be a MEGA concert—worth attending.
It’s taking place at the Accra International Conference and even though many have tipped 2face from Nigeria to steal the show with both his tall list of both old and new hit songs, Wizkid is not a push over—Mafikizolo from South Africa, 4×4, Edem and MzVee from Ghana cannot also be ruled out that easily.
It’s definitely going to be a MEGA concert this Saturday, 18th October, 2014—as more than 5 top African musicians from Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana will mount one stage to thrill fans at the first Hennessy Artistry Concert in Ghana. You dare miss this once in a life time opportunity and you would have yourself to blame!
Any of these musicians-Wizkid, 2face, Mafikizolo, 4×4, Edem and MzVee can hold independent concerts and deliver bad-to-back electrifying performances but Hennessy has decided to pull some sort of a ‘clash of the best’ by putting them all on one stage for Ghanaian music lovers at the Accra International Conference.
Surely it must have cost Hennessy a fortune but as concertgoers, we don’t really care much about the cost—we are just excited about the opportunity to have these artistes rock our night.
And considering how much the tickets are going for, any of these artistes staging an individual concert would have charged the same—so this looks like buy one get 5 free for us, you wouldn’t find this anywhere.
From his 2006 hit song-African Queen to his 2014 releases, 2face will take patrons on a long but interesting musical journey, which has in many ways contributed to the recognition of African music at the international front.
And then, as we know, Wizkid never disappoints when on stage. With such exciting repertoire of hit songs, ranging from ‘Paurumo’ to ‘My Baby’, it’s just going to be a night to remember.
Wizkid and 2face have just performed together once— so it’s going to be very interesting to have the two of them on the same stage in Ghana, to perform their first collaborative track ‘Dance Go’.
Surely, a movie featuring African Movie Academy Awards’ Best Actress-Ama K. Abebrese, talented actors-John Dumelo and Adjetey Anang wouldn’t need multiple endorsements before you realize it is going to stand tall amongst the best African movies ever seen…
On Friday-31st October, 2014 in London at the Greenwich Odeon Cinema (8pm), African movie lovers will have the opportunity to see the above named actors and several other talented actors take up the challenge in Double Cross—as they tell the story of a streetwise programmer whose life turns upside down at a red carpet premiere to be attended by the stars.
For the start, we get to see something totally different and yet interesting as we break away from the usual African movie stories mostly dominated by witchcraft and unrealistic romance—therefore you cannot miss this premiere.
Double Cross does not only push the storyline frontier higher, it also brings together some of the best actors we have in Africa to play central roles in telling the story—making it a movie worth a watch.
In Double Cross “Effie Howard (Ama K. Abebrese) a streetwise programmer’s life is dramatically turned upside down when her fiancé Ben Boateng (Adjetey Anang) is convicted and sentenced for a bank robbery he did not commit. Determined to prove his innocence; she carried out her own investigation and finds the actual robber; Danny Frimpong (John Dumelo) a calm and collected sophisticated genius of a thief who has a personal vendetta against the bank he robbed Neptune Bank International. He robbed the bank using urbane technology which enabled him to enter, steal and exit the bank leaving everyone mystified as to how the theft was carried out, no witnesses, no evidence, yet the money is gone.
She meets Danny and threatens him but later offers him a deal; and it’s to rob the bank again with similar methods as the first so the authorities know the actual robber is still out there, then Danny will not lose what matters to him most and the reason for the bank robbery. She plans to relocate with the stolen money and start a new life with Ben when he is acquitted so as to get away from the stigma attached to ex-convicts and their families. They are successful in the robbing the bank, Effie now sets her sights on a jewellery warehouse and she wants Danny to rob it.
With a lot of jewellery and money at stake, each one of them tries to outwit each other with medleys of smart thinking as they plan and execute the robberies. They meticulously plan the robberies, but no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare them for the dangerous enemy, an enemy Effie least expected and never saw coming; an unexpected turn of events on the day of the robbery, what happened”
At first glance, the Samsung Curved TV looks like a simple innovation, but its features are mind blowing. To the eyes, the curve simply fits. Behavioural researchers have known this for some time; people consistently show a preference for curves over hard lines and angles. Whether the object is a wristwatch, a sofa, or a well-designed building, curves curry favour.
Televisions with curved screens offer technical advantages beyond aesthetics. Curvature reduces reflection, making the viewing experience easier on the eyes, and simultaneously creates the illusion that the viewer is surrounded by the screen. The Samsung Curved TV is embedded with all these goodies to the eyes.
But aside from those advantages, studies suggest that merely viewing the curves of an object triggers relief in our brains. A new discipline known as neurasthenics—an ambitious vector between neuroscience and the fine arts—is exploring this idea, shedding light on why the love of curves is seducing technology manufacturers. Recent research under this new banner suggests that curved features in furniture, including TVs, trigger activity in our brains’ pleasure centre. We derive a buzz from curves much as we do when viewing a beautiful work of art.

Samsung Electronics continues to achieve recognition for its innovative products. The company has been awarded a certification of 20 year lifespan durability from the renowned VDE Testing and Certification Institute for the Samsung Digital Inverter Motor (DIM) and Arno Washing Machine.
“VDE is a leading agency for testing electrical equipment in Europe” said Vishwas Saxena, Director for Consumer Electronics at Samsung Ghana. “VDE Life time tested the 3 Phase BLDC Motor which runs for 4,400 cycles or 20 years”, he said. “The certification serves as testimonial to Samsung DIM’s durability and impressive performance which our consumers trust us for. We are confident consumers will make the informed choice when shopping the market for a washing machine that will last a life time”, Mr. Saxena added.
The President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Boo-Keun Yoon delivered the opening keynote speech at IFA 2014 consumer electronics trade show, calling on the consumer electronics industry to agree on open industry standards so that the ‘Home of the Future’ can meet the demands of people and adapt to their unique needs and lifestyles.
“The home of the future is not about the technology, nor is it about being smart and connected,” Mr. Yoon said. “It’s about human-based innovation. It’s about technology that isn’t overwhelming and works discretely behind the scenes to adjust to consumers’ needs at the right time.”
As part of Samsung’s vision for “bringing the future home,” Mr. Yoon said the ‘Home of the Future’ will adapt to people’s needs through three key attributes, ultimately becoming a home that cares for people:
The Samsung Smart Trade programme has experienced dozens of consumers in the country exchange their phones for brand new Samsung phones. The on-going promotion is taking place at selected authorised Samsung dealer shops and it is available for selected Samsung Smartphone models as well as other selected brands.
Reports from some of the Samsung authorized shops indicate that numerous people have taken this opportunity to quickly barter their old phones for new ones. Jaspreet Singh, Director for Handheld Products at Samsung stated that “We have realized that sometimes it is difficult for people to buy new phones not because they don’t want to, but because they find it difficult to get new funds to buy a completely new phone when they already have one. This promotion therefore gives them an easy way out as well as the perfect opportunity to carry the latest by trading in their old phones, top up and receive brand new ones.”
