Matthew Ashimolowo of KICC Says He Knows Who Will Win Nigeria’s 2015 Presidential Election But He Won’t Mention His Name…

Mathew Ashimolowo
Mathew Ashimolowo

Matthew Ashimolowo does not really do this—it is something T.B Joshua is known for but it seems Ashimolowo’s God is not any different from that of T. B Joshua; they can all easily tell the future.

Matthew Ashimolowo  who is a senior Pastor at the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London has told Nigeria’s newspaper-The SUN that, God has revealed to him the name of the person who will win Nigeria’s 2015 presidential election…

But instead of telling Nigerians so that when it happens we would easily say; Matthew Ashimolowo’s God said it, he has decided to keep the name a secret…

Of course this is of no use to any Nigerian except himself and his God since we cannot even know the name…

Check below for what Ashimolowo had to say;

While France Stages 3.7 Million People March in Response to 17 Killed By Terrorists Last Week, Africans Can’t Be Bothered About 2000 People Who Were Killed in Nigeria By Boko Haram the Same Week…

March in France
March in France

What else could be the explanation of the inaction of Africans to last week’s Boko Haram’s killing of over 2000 people in North-east Nigeria town of Baga—especially in the light of the huge march of about 3.7 million people across France in a moving tribute to the 17 people killed in terror attacks across the country last week?

For me, the disparity in reaction boils down to the African notion of; each one for himself, God for us all—as opposed to the Western idea of being your brother’s keeper.

It’s reinforcing in strength and in the spirit of togetherness to see over 3.7 million people staging a moving tribute to the 17 who were murdered by terrorists—a clear indication that, the French stand in solidarity against any sort of extremism. Interestingly, the largest of the many marches which took place in Paris had about 40 world leaders standing with about 3.3 million people…

And back in Africa (Nigeria) where 2000 people were massacred by Boko Haram same week, not a single soul seems to give a hoot about the lost lives—or the increasing atrocities of Boko Haram, in anyway closer to what the West did today in France…

The Rise of Extremism: FaceBook’s Mark Zuckerberg Talks About How An Extremist in Pakistan Fought to Get Him Sentenced to Death Over Someone’s Comment on Facebook

Mark Zuckerberg
Mark Zuckerberg

The on-going terrorist incident in France has brought back the talk and debate about the rise of extremism in the world— that is, a group of people who feel everyone in the world should dance to their songs; and must dance in a particular way they want…

Ironically, these people pride themselves in religion and the laws that grant them freedom of worship or the right to practice their religion and yet, same people hate the same law which grants others Free Speech, freedom to criticise or satire everything including their religion.

It’s a typical case of wanting to eat your cake and have it back…

Anyway, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg has shared his ordeal with extremism, stating how a certain extremist in Pakistan fought to have him sentenced to death for his failure to remove a facebook comment about Prophet Mohammed which this extremist found offensive…

12 Killed In Terrorist Attack on French Magazine ‘Charlie Hebdo’

FRANCE-CRIME-MEDIA-SHOOTING

New Year, same old sh*t. Islamic militants hit the offices of the French satirical magazine ‘Charlie Hebdo’ in Paris, shooting everything in sight.

Four of the magazine’s more well known cartoonists, including its editor, got killed in the attack; as well as two police officers, reports the BBC.

‘Charlie Hebdo’ specialises in satire that attacks all spheres of society. Of particular note is their cartoons, which are well renowned. Islamic subjects have at times received the brunt of their satire, and that is believed to have motivated the attacks.

The gunmen were masked, and might have been two or three. They pelted the offices with machine gun fire, and then exchanged fire with police outside before fleeing in a car. They later abandoned the car and hijacked a second one.

Families Of Deceased Synagogue Church Collapse Taken On Shopping Spree By T.B Joshua

T.B. Joshua
T.B. Joshua

It’s been a while since anything was heard about the church collapse at the Synagogue Church of All Nations that claimed about 116 lives back in September last year.

Since then a coroner’s inquest has been ongoing to try to determine what exactly happened; an inquest, by the way, that Joshua has been avoiding like crazy. The church has meanwhile been falling all over itself in a pathetic attempt to assign other reasons for the tragedy aside the flagrant disregard for rules and human safety that led to it.

In the latest in a long line of tasteless attempts to smooth things over for himself, the Prophet himself, Temitope Balogun Joshua, has taken the families of some of the deceased who travelled all the way from South Africa to Nigeria on a shopping spree, as well as feted them in exclusive high class hotels.

7 Year Old Walks Unharmed From A Plane Crash That Killed Her Family

Piper Gutzler and her younger sister Sailor
Piper Gutzler and her younger sister Sailor

I am pretty sure this must be what my country people mean when they say ‘miracle’.

In a display of extraordinary bravery, 7 year old Sailor Gutzler walked almost a mile with injuries all over her body to find a place of safety after surviving a plane crash.

She had been involved in the crash with some members of her family including her mom, dad, sister, and cousin; all of whom died on the spot.

Sailor survived, and with injuries all over, wearing no shoes, she trekked the about a mile journey through foresty areas in freezing conditions to reach the source of light she was seeing in the distance.

It turned out to be the house of 71 year old Larry Wilkins, who answered a knock on his door to see the little girl in not so good shape, claiming she survived a plane crash.

Student in Kenya Jailed For Facebook Post Insulting Their President

Kenya President-Uhuru
Kenya President-Uhuru Kenyatta

Well I know quite a few Ghanaians who should be in jail then.

Alan Wadi Okengo, aka Lieutenant Wadi, is to spend a year in jail for a Facebook post he made about Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The BBC reports the 25 year old political science student at Moi University was also convicted of hate speech, after another post saying members of the President’s ethnic group (Kikuyu’s) should be confined to one part of the country.

He pleaded guilty to both charges of hate speech, ‘using unprintable’ insults against the President and for demeaning authority of a public figure.

Kenya has recently passed a very tough security law, which they claim is to help in fighting Al-Shabab militants but looks more like its aimed at curtailing individual and media freedom, writ large.

Transgender Teen Commits Suicide And Leaves Heartbreaking Suicide Note: ‘Fix’ Society, She Said

I know some people would probably scoff at this and not see why anyone should mourn that weird little boy but minorities like transgenders are also people and deserve some sympathy from society at large.

17 year old Leelah (Josh) Alcorn was a transgender living in the United States. She committed suicide over the weekend because she had always felt she had to transition from the boy she was born as into a girl; but her religiously devout parents always shot that down and she felt he would never be happy.

I could attribute Leelah’s sad end to religious extremism but truth be told, such prejudices extend beyond that and irrespective of what you think of people like that the suicide note should touch you and perhaps make you more sympathetic towards the next case like this you hear about.

Leelah walked onto the path of a tractor trailer on Sunday, then hours later her pre-programmed suicide note hit tumblr. It has since gone viral, and rightly so.

I always say irrespective of what you think of someone’s choices, if they feel that’s what would make them happy they should be left to go ahead, so long as they’re not breaking any laws.

We are too afraid of people who are different….

Leelah’s suicide note….. quite long, but worth the read

‘Exodus: Gods And Kings’ Banned in Egypt And Morocco

Exodus: Gods and Kings
Exodus: Gods and Kings

This is not quite on the level of the Sony hack but both Morocco and Egypt have banned the screening of ‘Exodus: Gods And Kings’ due to what they term ‘historical inaccuracies’.

The BBC reports the head of Egypt’s censorship board listed these historical inaccuracies as the film depicting the Jews as having built the pyramids, and that an earthquake caused the Red Sea to be parted during the Jews escape from Egypt, and not a miracle from God as the Bible portrays.

I can see why that’s got to sting.

One of the greatest prides of both ancient and modern Egypt is their world renowned pyramids, so Exodus portraying them as being built by the Jews is not something that would sit well with them.

Also, claiming the Red Sea was parted by an earthquake to allow the Jews escape borders on blasphemy, and really belittles the role of God in that whole dramatic escape.

There are reports Morocco also banned the movie, just a day before it was supposed to premiere after it had initially been green lighted to screen.

Mauritanian Journalist Sentenced to Death Due For An Article He Wrote On The ‘Holy Prophet’

Hitchens1

Say what you will about Christians, at least they wouldn’t kill you for your contrarian beliefs; not in the past few centuries anyway.

A certain Mauritanian journalist is having a really crappy holidays, as a court in his homeland has sentenced him to death, under Islamic Sharia law which is in effect in Mauritania.

Sharia contains the strictest set of laws guarding the Islamic religion, and it clamps down mercilessly on blasphemy, real or perceived. It also violates fundamental human rights in more ways than one.

Mohammed Cheikh Ould Mohamed was convicted on apostasy, for criticising Prophet Mohammed in an article he published over a year ago. In it, he criticised some of the decisions taken by the holy prophet during the holy wars.

He was arrested on January 2nd this year, his trial just commencing within the past week, culminating in his sentence on Christmas Day! Sure Muslims don’t celebrate Christmas but there must be some hidden irony in there.

He is reported to have fainted when the sentence was read, having pled not guilty to the charge; insisting all along that it was not his intention to harm the prophet.

Baby With Rare Skin Condition Born In The US: What Do You Know About EB?

babyhands

They say you learn something new every day and honestly I have never in my life heard of a disease that made it impossible for you to be touched.

I remember encountering something like that in Tina Fey’s award winning sitcom 30-Rock, but it turned out the lady was faking the whole thing and I assumed a disease like that was too preposterous to be true.

But that is the situation a family in the United States are facing with their newborn daughter Kiira Kinkles, according to Yahoo. The four month old was born to Kirsti and Jason Kinkles in California; and she was born with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, more commonly known as EB.

The condition affects only one out of 20, 000 newborns, and it causes skin to be so fragile that it can blister or even tear from the slightest bit of contact. According to her parents the only way to pick the baby up is with a soft blanket wrapped around her as a protective barrier.

European Court of Justice Has RULED that British Citizens Should Be Able to Bring Family into UK…Without VISAS

Surely, this does not mean every British citizen of Ghanaian descent can fly to Ghana and pack his entire village of Uncles, Aunties and Nephews—and bring them all into UK without even the need for visas.

But it surely means that, the UK is losing control over its borders to non EU citizens too. Meaning, a British can easily bring his wife and children of whatever nationality easy into the country without any strict restrictions (maybe even without the need for a visa if the wife or children have resident anywhere in EU).

Before the ruling, UK ministers had required European nationals’ overseas family members to get a travel permit before travelling to Britain.

But the European Court of Justice found a British citizen living and working in Spain did not have to get a travel permit for his Colombian wife to visit the UK.

The European Court of Justice ruled in a case of Sean McCarthy, who has dual British and Irish citizenship, and married to a Colombian woman-Patricia McCarthy Rodriguez.

Mrs McCarthy Rodriguez, who has two children with her husband – both with British citizenship, had to get a “family permit” every six months to visit the UK with her family.

Frustrated by the requirement to apply for visa/permit all the time, together with her husband they took their case to court under the freedom of movement rules claiming she should be able to travel without the visa because she had an EU Residence Card issued by the Spanish government.

The European Court then ruled in the couple’s favour, stating that, the rules did not allow the British government to stop family members entering the country if they did not have a visa.

What this means is that, if I am a British citizen married to a Ghanaian settled in France (she does not have to be a French citizen, just has to have a resident permit), my wife should be able to travel with me into UK without the need for a visa…

Horrific Slaughter At Pakistani School Orchestrated By the Taliban | 132 Students Between 12 and 16 Years Old Killed

School Child

What kind of animals would carry out such actions on little children without batting an eye; brain dead, brainwashed animals- that’s who.

The type of atrocities being committed in the name of Allah keeps mounting up. The IS have taken terrorism to a whole new level, and now this attack by the Pakistani Taliban exhibits a depravity the former would be proud of.

The cowards attacked Peshawar Army Public School yesterday December 16, with military officials identifying seven attackers. All seven wore explosive vests, and were carrying automatic weapons which they used to fire indiscriminately into classrooms filled with kids.

Aside that, they set off bombs at different locations within the school; and according to this New York Daily News Report, set a female teacher ablaze right in front of a classroom full of kids.

“They literally set the teacher on fire with gasoline and made the kids watch” A witness told the publication.

And when they were finally cornered by Pakistani military, they blew themselves up, causing more carnage.

The terrorists were from Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and attacked the Army school because the kids of army personnel who have been carrying out a sustained offensive against them were enrolled there.

Was He Right or Wrong? | A Stranger Passes a Note to Man Sitting In Front of Him At A Football Game Claiming His Pregnant Girlfriend is A ‘Cheat’ After ‘Seeing Her Sending Romantic Texts to Another Man During The Game’

Lye
Lye

Relationships are full of drama and sometimes cheating—and an American football fan became a mini God at a recent football match by doing what some say was ‘right’ and others say was ‘wrong’.

According a man called ‘Lye’, he sat near a couple he didn’t know at a Detroit Lions football game, and repeatedly saw the woman (about 8 months pregnant) texting another man which she called Jason in text. Just beside her partner, this woman told the other man on the phone that, she wishes she was with him instead and once she is done, she will see him soon.

Lye claims that anytime the woman’s partner ( the man she was seated near her) tried to put his hands over her neck, reach out to her or have a conversation, she will quickly hide the phone—and sometimes she would tilt the screen away from her man towards him so he saw all the messages.

As a man, he was a little upset and together with the fact that the woman disrespected her partner in front of others made him feel sorry for the man so before the football game ended, he got up and got a pen to write the above note for the man. He asked the man to read when he arrives at home.

After Serving Almost 30 Years in Prison | US Court Clears Kwame Ajamu of All CHARGES

Kwame Ajamu
Kwame Ajamu in Court

No amount of restitution can make up for the wrong done Kwame Ajamu, his reputation and more importantly, his entire life.

After serving almost 30 years in prison for murder, a crime he denied; a US court on Tuesday cleared all charges against Kwame Ajamu, now 57 and out on parole since 2003.

The Court room was full of the expression of emotions with Ajamu saying “ I’m so happy today that this battle had come to an end.” Cuyahoga County Judge Pamela Barker also stepped down from her bench to give Ajamu a hug, the Associated Press reports.

In 1975, two people attacked Harold Franks with acid, and one of the people shot him. A third person drove a getaway car. A 12-year-old boy, Eddie Vernon, served as the state’s main witness in the case, and a jury convicted Bridgeman (as he was known at the time), along with his brother Wiley Bridgeman, then 20, and Ricky Jackson, 19.

The above three people received death sentences, but their sentences were later commuted. Kwame Ajamu was released on parole in 2003 after serving 27 years.
