President Mahama Says Some Places Are Worse than Ghana So Stop Complaining & Get Motivated

President Mahama_opt
President Mahama

Speaking to some Ghanaians in the USA, President John Mahama stated among other things that; Ghanaians do not appreciate what they have and complain a lot—forgetting that, some places are worse…

He said “Unfortunately in Ghana, we don’t count our blessings; you can have a glass and pour some water in it half way, you can describe that glass as half empty or half full.

“If you describe it as half full you are motivated to put some more water to fill it. If you count it as half empty then you are de-motivating yourself,” President Mahama said.

He continued, “it is only when you count your blessings and count your successes that you have a certain motivation to build on the successes you have achieved.

T.B Joshua Shooting Off His Mouth at His Critics: Throws Out Several Threats in Bizzare Message

T.B. Joshua
T.B. Joshua

I think a little honest scrutiny should be thrown the way of our Men of God every once in a while. We put them on this ‘high and mighty’ pedestal where they can do no wrong, and it allows them to take advantage and get away with things they ordinarily should not get away with.

If we aren’t willing to do this, we certainly should take the opportunity when something fishy comes along to ask these questions we would ordinarily not ask. A person’s status should never shield them from having to answer the honest questions of the baffled multitudes.

This church collapse and the aftermath have raised several valid questions about T.B Joshua and his church. There was neglect in the building plans that led to the accident; there has been a certain ineptitude in dealing with the fallout from both SCOAN and T.B Joshua that warrants scrutiny by any open minded person.

Unfortunately, T.B Joshua disagrees, as in a message to his congregation has thrown a metaphorical bull’s eye on all those questioning him. Apparently, anyone who dares question his good intentions must be an enemy agent and should tread carefully, as God would deal with them, and quite harshly I should add.

“This issue at hand is a delicate issue. People are using all this to gain money and friends. This is a warning. Whatever anybody wants to write, let them write it; they will be the ones to read it”

I said, our God will get back to them. He has started somewhere. He is coming. If your brother is involved, unless he can resurrect the people who died, he will join them. If you can resurrect the people who died, you can go free”

“The servants, the people who sent them, the people who heard the stories all around and those who want to use it for themselves and disturb my spirit, you may likely join them. Be careful, to be forewarned is to be forearmed. Let us be very careful of our tongue”

So the critics should tread carefully, God is on the warpath. He is looking for blood, to atone for those smearing the name of his good servant. And we all know what God is capable of.

“I pray the satanic agents should be the only ones to suffer this. I said, our God will get back to them. Warn your family and brothers about their talk. You will know I am a man of God this time. People who are looking for your downfall and run to disturb your spirit, warn them to be careful of their tongues and the people who come to them. God is a God of vengeance

Is President Mahama The Worst President We Have Ever Had? Some People Seriously Think So

John Mahama

I was reading a young lady’s blog today. Her name is Nana Ama and she wrote about why President Mahama just may go down as the worst leader ever. I was intrigued although there’s nothing about her rant that is a lie. We all know the facts and we have all vented in many ways but let me ask you, do you think/feel the same?

If you are old enough to have seen several governments before this one, then you will have a more objective and acceptable view.

I personally haven’t seen too many but I have witnessed enough to form an opinion. I was born into the Rawlings administration and I remember that period for some intensive focus on agriculture which yielded results. If for nothing, our bellies were full!

Then came his former Excellency, John Agyekum Kuffour with his financial sector improvement. His government was accused of many corrupt practices as it is with every government but we saw him improve on many things too. Ghanaians nicknamed him the gentle giant.

Fast forward to Agya Atta Mills who we lost to the cold hands of death. The ‘Asumdwe Hene’ did his best for Ghanaians and although we didn’t grow as fast as we wanted to, we at least managed sustenance.

The US Manufactured Ebola? US Born Liberian Professor Says So…

EBOLA

Since Ebola reared its ugly head and took West Africa by fear, there have been various conspiracy theories emerging in Liberia blaming it on the United States. It has now however been taken to a different level as a major Liberian newspaper published such claims made by a professor in the United States.

Huffington Post reports that the Daily Observer, a Liberian newspaper has published an article by a Liberian born professor, Cyril Broderick who is an associate professor in the Agric and Natural Resources Department of University of Delaware claiming that Ebola is a direct act of Bioterrorism which was planned and successfully executed by the United States.

He further claims that these experiments were carried out by America’s Department of Defense. The manufacture and dispersal of Ebola is supposed to control rapid population growth.

According to the report; The United States conspired with Canada, the UK and France to fund Ebola trials on Humans just a short while before it broke out as an epidemic.

The very disturbing and heavy remarks made on the article suggest a wide belief in what professor Broderick is purporting.

Some Ordinary Things You Come into Contact with Every Day that Carry Harmful Bacteria

cleaning

Cholera has swept across Ghana in an unprecedented wave as authorities scramble to implement their too-late quick fixes.

The primary transmission method of cholera is through coming into contact with contaminated faecal matter. It sounds like a difficult proposition, unless you live in a perpetual wasteland of filth like some parts of Accra; which is actually the root cause of this current outbreak.

But it seems you can never be too careful, as a recent article in US web magazine Men’s Health has shown that there are several, everyday items you come into contact with that might carry these bacteria.

Looking at various studies conducted over the years, it shows that even washing your hands after every visit to the washroom would not be as much protection as you would wish. And since the bacteria in faecal matter cause a lot more diseases aside cholera, it is imperative to know these and take measures to protect yourself.

Here are six things that might contain faecal matter and several other bacteria that you didn’t know and come into contact with all the time.

Cell Phone

This one is actually simple; we carry our cell phones everywhere we go, and we never clean it.

It could be carrying anything, with London researchers having found that if it’s not even carrying the E.coli (bacteria found in faecal matter), it could be carrying any other form of bacteria, like influenza and SARS.

FIPAG Is Still ‘Attacking’ Foreigners – They Stopped Another Foreign Crew From Shooting An Advert in Ghana

Fipag

The film producers association of Ghana-FIPAG seems not to have resolved to leave foreign production companies that come to Ghana to shoot movies or documentaries alone – despite harsh criticisms from some art critics.

Leadership of FIPAG launched an all out directive for non-Ghanaians who make films in the country without having a work permit – a permit from the Ghana Actors Guild and a permit from FIPAG. The campaign, according to the Public Relations Officer for FIPAG, Michael Kwaku Ola, was meant to protect the Ghanaian movie producers and the industry as a whole and not scare off foreigners.

“People have in the past sneaked in and out of the country to shoot movies and documentaries among others without any work permit or permission from FIPAG. Well guess what, things have changed now. FIPAG, together with the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) will make sure that the right thing is done,” Michael Kwaku Ola told the media some months back.

A movie CD hawker at Opera Square in Accra Central called on GhanaCelebrities.Com to make a report that last week, the FIPAG pounced on some foreign production crew from South Africa who were shooting at Opera Square – bringing business to a halt amidst causing both human and vehicle traffic congestion.

In an interview with the head of the task force team of FIPAG, Mr. Samuel Ampadu, he confirmed to GhanaCelebrities.Com that “it’s true we disrupted a South African production company from shooting at Opera Square after getting notification that they were shooting without permit.

“It was after we stopped them from shooting that they showed us a permit letter from the Ministry of Information.” Per FIPAG’s directive, foreigners who come to Ghana to shoot movies must pay a certain amount of money to the association.

High Profile Couples That Divorced, Separated or Broke Up This Week-In Case You Missed It | Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage & Husband Too?

blank
Tiwa Savage and T Billz

Have we humans gotten to a point where we should stop worrying ourselves with marriage? I am just sick of the separations, breakups and divorces rocking the news daily.

From older Celebrity chefs Pat and Gina Neely to our very own Tiwa Savage from Nigeria who is being reported to having parted ways in work and in relationship with manager/husband-T Billz, marriage seems to be losing the battle to divorce.

Tiwa Savage and T Billz

Though not the first of the week, this one is closer to home and hits harder because they actually have the shortest marriage.

I must say this was the shocker of the week for me. Tiwa Savage and her manager/best friend/ husband rumoured separating was not a good thing to find out. As the Nigerian media widely reported, Tiwa Savage first sacked her husband as her manager and appointed someone else on claims of financial mismanagement.

Their marriage proceeded to crack based on the same allegations. The rumour mill is rife with stories that T Billz squandered Tiwa Savage’s hard earned cash after a flamboyant traditional marriage and wedding which she supposedly paid for. During their Dubai marriage, GhanaCelebrities.Com asked the question; who was paying for the expensive wedding, considering the fact that Tee Billz is unemployed, except that he parades himself as his wife’s manager.

To make things worst, he reportedly also beats her up from time to time! Apparently she thought she could deal with it since all these problems were present even while they were dating but things have gotten out of hands since they got married to a point where she has presently walked out on him—after he is said to have cheated. After just five months of marriage!!

Kris Jenner and Bruce Jenner

Kris Jenner and Bruce Jenner

This has been long coming because the Jenners have made it common knowledge that they have been living apart for the past one year. The two have been married over twenty years and Bruce Jenner is the second husband of Kris Jenner after the late Robert Kardashian with whom she had her first three kids. Her reasons are the usual, ‘irreconcilable differences’.

Divorce is nothing new to the Kardashian household and recently both Kim and Khloe got divorced. I guess these rampant divorces make it so hard for Kourtney and Scott to even consider marriage.

Erika Jackson filed for divorce from Randy citing irreconcilable differences and asking for sole physical custody of their son together. Randy Jackson is yet to respond to her file but it is a surprise to many especially as these two have been married close to 19 years. What suddenly changed? Or has it been bad for more than a while without public knowledge?

BrutallyUncensored.Com: Being with One Partner is NOT Innate | Cheating is Therefore Natural

WHY DID I GET MARRIED TOO?

My current relationship lasting a bit over three years is the longest one I’ve been in by far. My first and supposedly true love who assured me of her eternal love for me with corny recycled text messages that at the time made me incredibly smite and go red in my black cheeks didn’t last six months.

And we were barely eighteen. A couple more reality inducing, jarring, brief flings disguised as relationships, and then i met KAF who’s getting married next month to a man who’s not me. My current relationship overlaps that with KAF slightly.

The current relationship may or may not have ended last night. Or more likely three months ago when I bedded an incredibly attractive close friend and admitted to it. With this background I may appear not too credible a contributor to the topic Monogamy. However, my experiences I believe put me in a good stead to speak on this contentious issue. Is `Mongamy feasible? Is it natural? Is there one person destined to be coupled with you forever?

No. Well according to common sense and logic. Marrying for love as we know it now only began in the 18th century. Prior to that marriage was primarily to form business ties, secure already existing family worth, expand family networks or even pay family debts, writes Rainier-Mackie Plahar on BrutallyUncensored.Com.

Indeed back then a man was better respected and admired if he had multiple women. Montaigne the renowned essayist said in the 16th “any man in love with his wife was a man so dull no one else could love him”. This best reflects the values and standards of the time.

Monogamy is a social construct that aims at organizing our sex lives and furthermore  provide a stable environment for the raising of children, but also (and this is often overlooked), that by pairing up couple for life, it does a good job in alleviating the jealousy and mayhem which would ensue from a sexual free-for-all.

Countless examples in our everyday lives alone is enough proof that jealousy and mayhem is rife in monogamous relationships. This is because it takes a superhuman level of discipline and commitment for monogamy to work to achieve the aims for which it was constructed.

Accra Metropolitan Assembly’s Exercise Showing Defective Reactionary Nature of Ghanaian Public Officials

Dynasty Chinese at Osu, Accra
Dynasty Chinese at Osu, Accra

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly has been on the warpath in recent times, forced to make a grandstand due to the cholera outbreak that has swept through the capital and most parts of the country.

One of the recent initiatives meant to battle the outbreak is a surprise inspection of food vendors within the metropolis, an initiative that has so far yielded some disgusting results; proving that we are not as safe as we would like to feel within our own capital.

What bugs me is that this is a problem we are all too familiar with. We go through our lives doing the minimum possible we can get away with, waiting for the inevitable outbreak of a disaster to force us to do what we should have been doing all along.

That is what the AMA has been doing with this recent clampdown on food vendors. The surprise inspection has spanned chop bars, restaurants, and is meant to tackle wayside vendors as well.

Aside the fact that these routine checks should be the status quo and not a panic measure when an epidemic sweeps over the country, the results gleaned so far should put the fear of God in any Ghanaian who patronises any food establishment outside their own homes.

You might say it’s not any surprise, Accra after all is engulfed in filth wherever you look, and people sell adjacent to gutters without any scruples. But whilst you would expect this kind of tactics from small time food vendors and the chop bars, the fact that restaurants, some of whom have huge reputations have fallen foul of the standards is a frightening thought.

At What Point Does Faith Become Folly? | South African Congregation Drink Petrol Because Pastor Claims to Have Turned it Into Pineapple Juice

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3rNONj1A_w

I often marvel at the tenacity of Ghanaians when it comes to matters of faith, and for the absurd levels we are willing to take our belief in a supreme being. We place too much trust in our men of God, we interpret everything through the lens of religion and superstition, and we are willing to do anything so long as we are sure it enhances our chances of one day ending up in heaven.

It’s a problematic mindset that as much as we hate to admit, remains at the root of most of our ills as a society. We often place too much trust in faith to the detriment of hard work and innovation, whilst we spend fortunes keeping pastors rich whilst we remain in our lives of dilapidation.

South African pastor Lesego Daniel, of the Rabioni Centre Ministries, made his congregation drink petrol because he claimed to have changed it to pineapple juice. It was an exercise modelled on when Jesus turned water into wine (See the video above).

Blind faith as demonstrated by this South African congregation is very worrying. When people slip into mindsets like this, they can be asked to do anything and they would so long as they believe it is in the name of their religion.

I am sure we can all see what problems such a mentality would breed. Blind obedience to a person or deity breeds fanaticism, and fanaticism breeds far worse problems we should all be familiar with.

So I Married a Nigerian + My Experience So Far…

black woman

This piece is based on my own personal experiences so there tends to be some generalization.

Hi everybody, I am a Ghanaian lady who got married this year to a handsome, sweet and God-fearing Nigerian man. A number of people asked me if all the men in Ghana were taken but chale one cannot fight God’s will. I would not trade my husband for anything or anybody. I must say that Nigerian men are very confident and seem to be trained to take on responsibility at an early age (this is not saying Ghanaian men aren’t). They stand tall with confidence and are not fazed by hard and trying times. There seems to be a deep rooted belief that ‘one day one day’ all will be well.

I was quite surprised that my dad, who normally goes on and on with respect to his opinions, did not object to me marrying a Naija man. His first statement was “I hope you are not being pressurized to marry?” My dad and I are not really close but I loved him for that question. There I was thinking I was going to have to recruit my mom to fight this love war for me. I happily replied, “No.” He went on to ask the usual questions a father would ask and then he made another powerful statement, ” I really don’t mind if my children marry non-Ghanaians, the two most important things are the person should be honest and have a good temper”.

Wow, I was shocked that was all that mattered to him. I know my mom had already said that none of her children should marry non-believers but I was confused regards my dad’s words. I always thought he would be a bit tribalistic and worry about social status etc. His words made me realise that he may be more down to earth than he appeared. He had highlighted a fact that some women ignore. Yes, honesty and temperament does come to mind but not before looks, finances, job security and status to name a few.

Oh, so lest I forget, he also gave me examples of many Ghana-Nigerian relationships that have been successful and his one advice to me was to think of myself as a Nigerian when I relocate. It dawned on me that as humans, we react based on our experiences and beliefs as well as evidence of certain circumstances. My dad believed, tribe wasn’t an issue but rather the principles one guided his life with. His observation of successful inter-country marriages had also made him more open to the news I shared with him. All I can say is Thank God.

The pre-wedding period was not void of calamity but by Gods grace the wedding was a success. Did I mention that my maid-of-honour and I had promised to ‘whoop’ my husband and his best man on the dance floor (knowing that my husband was a total klutz at dancing). Eiiii, we received the surprise of a lifetime. My husband and I still argue about the fact that he deceived me into thinking he couldn’t dance to save his life. Naija really dealt with Ghana that day. But I give God the glory because my desire for him went a notch higher if you know what I mean.

Anyway fast forward to me relocating to Nigeria after the wedding.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

From BeyondGossip.Com

It seems the general public is now tired of Kimye and their antics.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were greeted with boos for arriving late at the Lanvin show in Paris. The crowd started booing the supercouple as they walked to the front row of the show.

Kanye however got defensive and confronted the crows for heckling them. He told the crowd it Alber Elbaz’s fault they were late because she asked to see them at the backstage.

“Alber asked to see us. Don’t boo us. We’re not late.” said Kanye.

Beauty Pageants Make Women Confident Says Emefa- Miss Ghana UK Contestant

Emefa
Emefa

Beauty pageants generates a lot of heated arguments with most people saying it is exploitation and sexualisation of women but one person who begs to differ is this year’s Miss Ghana UK contestant number one-Emefa.

According to the student of University of Warwick studying LLM in International Development Law and Human Rights, beauty pageants such as Miss Ghana UK empower women by helping them with their communication skills as well as accepting their bodies since the pageant has women of all sizes competing.

Using herself as an example, she said; “I’m actually very shy but Miss Ghana UK has given me the opportunity to practice speaking in public”. She believes the public speaking training and the charitable courses associated with the pageant makes the pageant worthwhile.

Professor Blain Roberts an associate professor of California State University in an article she wrote for The New York Times stated that that beauty pageants exploit women, sexualize their bodies and encourage conformity to “ludicrous” beauty standards. She further stated that it is a bad idea since this encourages most young girls to follow suit.

BrutallyUncensored.Com: Brother James’ Ideal Woman | Must Be A Stay At Home Wife, Cook & Wash All His Dirty Stuff

Black man

You might have come across him at some point in time or the other. He is that one person who is always present at every church event in town. Our dear brother is most likely to be neatly dressed and could be easily confused for the pastor.

He likes to be heard and so it is of little wonder you see his name appearing in the list of guest speakers. He operates in a calm and confident manner as a faithful servant sure of his salvation, writes Adwoa Boah on BrutallyUncensored.Com.

He is not just everybody’s friend but also the people’s favourite as he is easy to talk and relate to. He has a good sense of humour and has never been seen in any argument of any sort. He has the voice of a public speaker. You know, that deep kind of voice which grabs your attention and keeps you mesmerised by his speech.

He always seems to be busy, in a hurry to some unknown destination to take care of some private business.  Twenty four hours is obviously not enough time in a day for him to get all that needs to be done. He is always smiling, but wouldn’t you do the exact same thing if you had such perfect set of teeth and a smile as cute as his?

But as they say, no man is perfect and my dear brother, no matter how close he is to perfection, is no exception. The sceptic in me just wouldn’t let me be and so I decided to get closer to him, in a bid to unravel the mystery behind this intriguing individual.

The Chinese Have Brought their THING to Ghana | Dynasty Chinese Restaurant Closed Down as AMA Cracks Down on Filth

Dynasty Chinese at Osu, Accra
Dynasty Chinese at Osu, Accra

In its latest fight against cholera in the city, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) yesterday closed down Dynasty Chinese restaurant in Osu after an inspection team stormed several restaurants in the area to inspect.

For some time now, the AMA has been inspecting the hygienic practices of restaurants, chop bars and other eating businesses. A move I highly applaud. People pay so much for food from these restaurants only to end up with all sorts of food poisoning.

The Public Health Directorate of the AMA headed by Doctor Sampson Anim Boateng closed down Dynasty Chinese Restaurant because it had the most unhygienic kitchen in which it prepares food for customers. Algae infested surroundings, a defective gas cylinder which was supported by a stone, grease and soot accumulated surfaces and heat extractors, rusted and filthy stoves and algae infested areas at the entrance to the kitchen.

Other restaurants like Noble House and Frankies were warned of slight uncleanliness which they promised to clean up but the filth encountered at Dynasty was too much for the AMA to overlook leading to the closure.
