This week has been good to the Ghanaian hip life artist Samini (Batman). After being mortified publicly by his engagement to two women, he can now relax and do what he does best, which is entertaining his fans. According to statement signed by Samini’s manager Mr. Anthony Pun, Samini apologised to both women and their families and is trying to resolve the scandal privately. I like that fact that he stood up and accepted his mistake and have taken due course to rectify them.
Event organisers of the annual Ghana Music Awards (GMA), Charter House last Friday released a list of nominees for this year’s awards.
The nominee list has since excited some debate in certain quarters, mainly on the lines of whether some of the nominees deserve any award at all or whether the selection truly reflect industry movers and shakers.

In the wake of his controversial marriage to two different Ghanaian ladies (Christy and Mercy) based in Canada and UK respectively, Ghanaian Afro Reggae Super Star Samini has managed to grab a nomination as the only artiste from Ghana for an International award in New York.
Ghanaian music legend and pioneer of rap music in Ghana, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has revealed that he is working on new material for an upcoming album and that a track with UK rap royalty, Sway has already been recorded. Without giving much away, he hinted that the track is a guaranteed hit that would be enjoyed by both the young and old.
Come 10th April, 2010, the Ghanaian music industry will celebrate its most accomplished and successful artists for the year 2009, but reggae star, Blakk Rasta will not partake in the Ghana Music Awards ceremony.
