Actress Angelina Jolie has met almost everyone that matters in the world—from rock stars and presidents to refugees and royalties. But yesterday, she met someone special-Pope Francis at the Vatican after the screening of her movie-Unbroken.
The UN Special envoy and Director together with two of her children were at the Pontifical Academy for Sciences for the screening of the film, which tells the story of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic track star whose B-24 bomber crashed in the Pacific during the second world war.
Vatican spokesman, the Rev Federico Lombardi said the film shows “positive human and spiritual values, in particular forgiveness”.
Even though Pope Francis didn’t watch the film, he made time to meet Jolie and exchanged a few words with her—after the screening when she was brought up to the Apostolic Palace along with two of her children, a brother and a cast member.
