The barrenness of the Ghanaian movie industry forces many of those involved in it to search for their own alternative means of surviving.
You don’t have to guess much to realize what most of them choose as an alternative. Some speak openly about having to sell their bodies to make a living and we’ve consequently conned a nice term for them – ashawobrity.
Ghanacelebrities.com has always tagged Rosemond Brown aka Akuapem Poloo as a first class attention seeker, a typical slay queen and an Ashawobrity. She is whatever we have described her and even more.
Rosemond Brown is that girl who is desperate for fame and will do anything just to be talked about in the Ghanaian media space. But with the way things are going, it looks like this girl is going insane and needs psychiatric attention.
At this point, the ashawobrity lifestyle being led by some female celebs is nothing new. We have seen enough examples to know that it’s absolutely a norm in the so-called ‘dead’ Ghanaian showbiz industry.
Today we can confidently say we’re not the only ones calling out ashawobrities because actor Ekow Smith Asante has admitted that many of the actresses in the industry get to supplement whatever small income they make by selling their bodies.
It looks like not a single one of the Ashawobrities in this country who parade themselves in town as actresses and celebrities learnt any lesson or lessons from what happened to them last year.
One of my new year resolutions was that some of these girls should turn a new leaf in 2019, focus more on their talent and the jobs they claim to do and leave the uncouth and attention seeking lifestyle somewhere. From the look of things, nothing of that sort will happen.
The Ghanaian is about the highest hypocrite you can ever find anywhere in the world. We say something today and do the exact opposite of all the things we said and claimed to be tomorrow with no shame.
It looks like hypocrisy is embedded in us right from birth or maybe it is an integral part of our DNA. You put your whole trust in what a Ghanaian says most especially a Ghanaian celebrity at your own risk because they are some of the most hypocritical liars of our time.
We are in the last month of the year 2018 and Christmas is fast approaching all of us. The month of December every year is quite a busy one for everybody as there are a lot of festive moments in this month.
In this particular month, a lot of people express their love and kindness to loved ones and even total strangers by gifting them with different kind of gifts. December is really the holy month of giving.
Martha Ankomah is not your average Ghanaian actress who will do or say anything just to grab attention or crave attention for herself. She is more beautiful compared to almost all the female celebrities we tag as Ashawobrities and all over the place.
One person who has been a revelation for the entertainment industry of Ghana in 2018 for almost all the wrong and bad reasons is a self-acclaimed actress and photo model Princess Shyngle.
Princess Shyngle has made major headlines in Ghana and has trended tremendously on almost all major Ghanaian social networking sites for the whole of the year. From posting twerking and almost ‘naket’ pictures on Instagram, calling her fellow female actress of being all over the place that is why no man is willing to marry them, deleting all explicit photos of herself online so she can attract a man who will marry her and posting even more raunchy ones a few months after like a confused brat.
Self-acclaimed actress and a certified “Ashawobrity” Xandy Kamel has revealed a deep-rooted secret about her once bosom friend and now enemy Benedicta Gafah in the Ghana movie industry. The secret is so severe and damaging that it has set tongues wagging on social media.
Benedicta Gafah was on the “ATUU” Tv program which is hosted by ace Ghanaian broadcaster Abeiku Santana. Benedicta let out a lot of secrets on the show among them being that actor Bill Asamoah used to chop down Xandy Kamel. She also said she has never dated a married man before a statement which we doubt. Gafah also revealed that she has no friend in the movie industry.
Ghanacelebrities.com holds an unquestionable and unfathomable view or opinion that the Ghana movie industry is inherently dead, doesn’t pay, shitty and full of only “Ashawobrities“. Anytime we say or make this assertion several Ghanaian movie lovers who do not know much about the movie industry mostly disagrees with us. Some even go to the extent of insulting us just to protect their most loved actresses and actors. But we are in the industry and knows what goes on in there.
Have you asked yourself even in 2018 how many high budget Ghanaian movies have been shot and how many of our stars have featured in them? It is not even up to five and yet still our actresses live some of the most lavish and flashy lifestyles ever in this world. But you guys do not want us to question them as to what they do to earn that kind of money to live such a life. One day your father will give your school fees to one of these girls to chop for free and you will come to us ranting and crying.
The ashawobrity in the interview sighted by GhanaCelbrities.Com revealed that she indeed went to the said party with the black bra because she thought it wouldn’t look that bad on her and show publicly. Moesha, however, added that she later realized from the pictures she took at the party that the bra was showing and as result, she decided to take them off because she felt quite uncomfortable.
There is an epidemic of ashawobrities in the showbiz industry in Ghana. Every where you turn your head you run into a female celebrity intent on using her body to get ahead in life.
These ashawobrities flood social media with provocative photos to advertize their services and they often drive the latest cars and live in posh houses whilst existing in an industry they themselves admit is dying.
Some few days ago I found out on social media that a group calling itself Avance Media, a public relations agency, had conducted research and come out with a list of 50 bloggers they claim are the top in Ghana. I do not write this article to denigrate their research or try to impugn their hard work but just to set records straight.
The mere fact that they have decided to rank bloggers and to come out with a list of the best every year in itself is a good idea. It will somehow ginger Ghanaian bloggers to sit their asses up and to generate proper and good content. The blogging business is too porous and disorganized. Copy and paste (Plagiarism) have become the order of the day making a lot of these two by four bloggers very lazy. So we commend Avance Media for this great initiative but if it must be done it must be done well.
Once celebrity lovers unfollow each other on social media then there is fire on the mountain ─the likes of Yvonne Nelson, Juliet Ibrahim got dumped when their lovers unfollowed their sorry asses on social media.
Grown ass failed musician and model, Sister Derby is currently heartbroken and even slimming down looking thinner like 1 after her ‘school son’ rapper Medikal allegedly dumped her sorry ass for one of Ghana’s ‘Ashawobrity‘, Fella Makafui.
I am looking forward to a day I will wake up and log onto social media and come across something positive that self-acclaimed actress and a professional slay queen Princess Shyngle will put on her Instagram page. Almost everything she does on social media amounts to selling and portraying her body as the only tool or asset she has in this our industry.
Some months ago because of unnecessary hype and trend she intentionally deleted almost all the raunchy and sexually suggestive videos she put on her pages claiming that men love to marry decent ladies but not slay queens but just some few months and she is back to her wh*ring and Ashawobrity lifestyle in full force.
Many of the slay queens/’ashawobrities’ of our time love to brag about how they are ‘entrepreneurs’ whenever questions are raised about how they finance their wealthy lifestyles considering how dead the movie industry is.
These ashawobrities travel the world, drive the latest cars and live ‘big’ when some of them can go a full year without appearing in any commercially successful movie or advertizing campaign.
