Today is the 62nd anniversary of the Independence day of our dear nation Ghana. On the 6th of March, 1957, Dr Kwame Nkrumah declared our nation a newly independent nation, free from the shackles of colonialism, the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to achieve that impressive feat.
Yet despite being the first to achieve independence in Sub-Saharan Africa, and despite the shocking speed of development achieved by Nkrumah in his time in office, Ghana has remained stagnant throughout the years, and now many countries which attained Independence after us – both African and non African countries — have achieved a better quality of life than we have.
Ghanaian comedy is so boring that even their so-called feuds are super lame. The only viable rivalry is between David Oscar and DKB, even though Oscar is no longer a comedian and DKB can barely do comedy as it is.
But the two can’t stand each other and therefore they take up any opportunity which comes up to mock the other.
Ghanaian comedians are by and large jokes who cannot make a room full of weed smokers laugh if their lives depended on it. They get the occasional laughs at events but doing comedy that would make you laugh nonstop for an hour and a half is clearly not of their forte.

If you considered John Dumelo’s statement unforgiving , then I am sure you wouldn’t take it light with Ghanaian struggling comedian-David Oscar who blames Ghanaians for causing dumsor themselves—and says, he would be a hypocrite to join the #DumsorMustStop campaign.

Time to localize Viasat1. In a space of two months, August and September, Viasat1, the best entertainment television station in Ghana is set to roll on our screens two locally produced productions. These new productions are ‘Laugh A Minute’ and ‘The One Show’.
The former will be a hilarious daily family show, which will feature funny clips around the world. The show will be hosted by David Oscar, an up coming comedian in Ghana. There will be original Ghanaian moments. 27th September 2010 is schedule for the premiere.
And the latter will be hosted by the former presenter of Rhymes on GTV Joselyn Dumas. This show according to the host will discuss interesting subjects about family, friendship, fashion, relationships and other topical issues which affect the lives of Ghanaians.
