Fred Nuamah Says All the English-Speaking West African Countries’ Movie Industries Should Be Under NOLLYWOOD

Speaking to a group of producers and film-makers at the just ended 69th Cannes Film Festival at the French Riviera, one of Ghana Movie Industry’s strongest stakeholders and founder of Ghana Movie Awards-Mr. Fred Nuamah described all the Anglophone West Africa movie industries as Nollywood.
According to Mr. Fred Nuamah, the only robust way forward for the West African Movie Industry is to be camped under one well established umbrella, and Nollywood is undeniably the befitting name.
Fred Nuamah explained that, dividing the various countries’ industry into small units with different names does not loudly place West African movies out there—and that unless a film-maker or movie star makes it into Nollywood, he or she remains unknown, just as you can only attract global attention on the back of being prominent in Hollywood.

Ghanaian social media celebrity-Mona aka Hajia4Reall is looking fab in the below photo—so is actress-Yvonne Nelson looking HOT.

Of course as one of the many unofficial Louis Vuitton ambassadors in Ghana, Yvonne Nelson had her LV bag with her—to stamp her feet that, she is a high fashion Ghanaian celebrity.

John Dumelo and Fred Nuamah posed for a walking photo—and both of them seem to have lost a bit of weight.

Sister Debbie (real name Deborah Vanessa) also posted a beautiful photo on her instagram—this time, well covered.

PHOTOS: Yvonne Nelson, Becca, Prince David Osei, Fred Nuamah, Luckie Lawson & Others

Actress-Yvonne Nelson premiered her latest movie-‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’ last night in Accra—and to her disappointment, the turn out was really poor as only a few people turned up compared her previous premieres. Perhaps, she should have been smart and postponed the premiere following the Accra flood disaster—the fact it also rained yesterday with several … Read more

A Night of Conversation With Actress-Lydia Forson & Fred Nuamah Ended Up With A Wild Hunt For McDonald’s in Central London…

Lydia Forson
Lydia Forson in London

For the first time, I met actress-Lydia Forson last night—-even though we used to be ‘good’ buddies who fell out over conflicting ideas and somehow managed to later find compromising grounds to restructure the friendship. Perhaps, if not because of our fallout, this should have been our 20th meeting…

Fred Nuamah is also in London (he came in from Cannes) and even though we stayed in the same hotel at Cannes, he just can’t seem to get enough of me so he kept bothering me to visit so that we can have our secret dish-Sea Food. Of course that is not true, he left his hard drive with me at Cannes and he needed it, so I had to drop it for him while he is out here.

With a lot of work to be done at my end, I thought it wise to pick Lydia Forson from her posh-Marylebone apartment and head over to Heathrow Airport’s Renaissance hotel, where ‘chicken’ Fred Nuamah has been staying. I wonder the sense in coming to London and staying so close to noisy Heathrow Airport for more than a day, as if you are waiting for an early morning connecting flight.

Driving into Central London no matter whatever time of the day is pretty annoying—and even though I intentionally scheduled to pick Lydia Forson at 9:30pm so I can beat the traffic, I was still a little late. The traffic never seems to die off…

And since Lydia Forson was bored of waiting, she recorded a silly video which she showed me when she jumped into the car. It was not that cold for a Londoner but for the Accra soul, her butt was literally freezing—worst, when we left Fred’s hotel at around 3am.

The about 30 minutes drive with Lydia Forson from Marylebone to catch up with Fred Nuamah was quite interesting as we continued certain conversations we had started in the past, mainly industry improvement conversations.

PHOTOS: Fred Nuamah, Actor-Henry Adofo & Others at the 68th Cannes Film Festival | Fred Hired A Damn Yacht This Year?

Fred Nuamah
Fred Nuamah

Last year, Fred Nuamah told me at the 67th Cannes Film Festival that the shoes he wore were purchased at a price of 5000 Euros—and for this year, it’s not about his shoes, he hired a yacht to go around…

You know what, though I stayed at the same hotel with Fred Nuamah but different aparments, I was not with him at the time of the ‘hiring and chilling’, so I cannot really say much except to bring you the info and photos…

Trust Fred Nuamah to keep balling—and a few days ago, he was joined by rising Ghanaian actor-Henry Adofo at Cannes for a red carpet screening

The 68th Cannes Film Festival will come to an end tomorrow and it’s been another great year.

Lupita Nyong’o made a great Cannes appearance during the opening of this year’s festival—and since then, we’ve had some known faces gracing the red carpet in style—with others having failed to pull that Cannes’s appeal with their dresses.

Yesterday, Michelle Rodriguez attended the red carpet premiere of “Mad Max: Fury Road” and she looked flawless even though she the actress gambled on a more provocative look.

Actress Fan Bingbing also posed on the red carpet premiere of “Mad Max: Fury Road” but her spring incarnate look didn’t cut well for many of the critics—with some saying, that was not for the Cannes.

Emma Stone made a bold appearance this evening for the premier of ‘Irrational Man’ alongside film’s director Woody Allen and her co-star Parker Posey.

Founder/CEO of Ghana Movie Awards-Fred Nuamah has also returned to the 68th Cannes Film Festival—and he rocked tuxedo and dark shades for the opening night…

Actress-Yvonne Nelson stepped out to the premiere of her recent movie-Single, Married and Complicated last Friday taking a huge fashion risk with her chest, by putting her not so huge girls under a partial display—and the question is; do you think it worked for her?

A day after, actress-Kafui Danku who is heavily chested, the opposite of Yvonne Nelson’s case also pumped up her assets and kept them touching each other as she stepped out.

We’ve not yet seen our Ghanaian Celebrities going th Rihanna and Lady Gaga style with the see through dresses, but slowly, we will soon catch one of them showing us everything they got…

Don’t tell me you do not find anything weird and wrong with Elikem’s goat dyed beard!

Fred Nuamah

Fred Nuamah has a great smile and as usual, he brought it to the 67th Cannes Film Festival red carpet—sharply dressed in a tuxedo which seems a bit tight.

Naturally, I think Fred Nuamah likes the good life and he must be lucky to be able to afford it—else, I am sure he would have gone insane by now.

Cannes Film Festival: Fred Nuamah, Jessica Chastain, Eva Longoria, Cheryl Cole, Channing Tatum & Others Attend Foxcatcher Premiere…

Cheryl Cole1
Cheryl Cole

The red carpet premiere of Foxcatcher took place on Monday at the 67th Cannes Film Festival—and it was attended by Jessica Chastain, Eva Longoria, Cheryl Cole, Channing Tatum, Mark Ruffalo, director Bennett Miller, Steve Carell, Megan Ellison and others. CEO/Founder of Ghana Movie Awards-Mr. Fred Nuamah joined the stars on the red carpet to see the movie…

Cheryl Cole,30 was the lady of the carpet as she made breath-taking entrance wearing a black  strapless dress with a stunning layered train that blew delicately behind her as she walked.

Shockingly, Fred Nuamah was still wearing his £5000 shoes. I think, he should have bought 5 shoes for £1000 each rather—instead of wearing the same pair of shoes to all the events. Let the church say AMEN!

PHOTOS + After Driving Over 1100 Miles & Paying 97 Euros in TOLL | We Arrived Safely at Cannes for the Festival de Cannes…

Cannes Film Festival (74)

For the first time, I decided to drive into another European country—forget the fact that I have driven into both Wales and Scotland, because they are still part of the United Kingdom. And to be frank, I don’t even think we will soon have an independent Scotland State.

Though I did a bit of research to know the miles I had to cover for the entire journey from London to Cannes, located in the South of France, there was one thing that did not pop up in my research. I knew I would need to cover about 1100 miles, approximately 13 hours of driving to get to Cannes but I did not know there were several TOLL booths on the way and my my girlfriend-SassyChic who slept mostly throughout the journey had no idea too. I had to settle the road master anytime I came across one.

In fact, I wouldn’t even mention it if I was paying less than 5 Euros per a TOLL booth. We paid over 15 Euros for the first toll which we thought was a little too much. We got to the next one and it was over 35 Euros and then the next was 23 Euros. In total, we paid 97 Euros in Tolls before getting to Cannes.

I’ve never paid such number of tolls in my driving life. The only toll I’ve ever paid is when I drove into Wales some years back—and that was even below 10 pounds.

After we got off the ferry at Calais, we drove through Paris onto the A6 and then just before 11pm, it started raining heavily. It got pretty dangerous with all those big trucks running alongside us in the rain, on a road with no lights. And after driving for 5 hours with just one stop, I was damn tired.

Celebs Out & About: Jackie Appiah, Menaye Donkor, Delay, Fred Nuamah, Nana Akua Addo & John Dumelo

Jackie Appiah1
Jackie Appiah

It looks like this is show you separate the goodies from the chaff—by making the expensive purchases and even showing us when you are about to buy it.

Jackie Appiah has over the years shown and accepted her shopping addiction. And when it comes to her shopping, she definitely goes all out to make sure she is getting the real deal instead of the many ‘fakies’ that the other celebrities settle for.

I guess it is a matter of ‘if you have the cash, blow it up’…

Also, it seems the #BringBackOurGirls campaign has become a fever and not has only celebrities all around the world joined in, Ghanaian actress-Nanan Akua Addo and friends staged a protest in Ghana few days ago—holding #BringBackOurGirls placards.

The question people have been asking on social media is;  are these #BringBackOurGirls photos going to really do anything more than celebrities just looking for attention for themselves?
