I Was not Arrested — George Darko

Highlife legend, George Darko has debunked reports that he was picked up by national security on Wednesday dawn at Okuapehene’s palace.
Mr George Darko stated that they were not arrested as reported but they were sent to Koforidua.
George Darko who is a subchief at Akropong-Akuapim with stool name Nana Yaw Ampem Darko confirmed that national security officers stormed the palace.

Highlife legend George Darko, a subchief at Akropong in the Eastern Region together with Asonahene Kwasi Omenako have been arrested by the Police and Officers of the National security at the Chief’s Palace at Akropong.
The reason for their arrest is still not known to the public but it is confirmed that they are currently at the Eastern regional Police command at Koforidua according to StarrFMonline.com.

Celebration Of Burger Highlife With George Darko

After some 30 years of blazing the Burger Highlife trail, Highlife legend and King of the genre George Darko is to headline a major concert this year, to celebrate more than three decades of the genre.
Mirror Image Productions, Darko’s label has said, adding that George would be joined in concert by other celebrated acts cutting across, in celebrating this milestone, in a major concert.
The organizers have hinted that the concert, set for the national capital, Accra, would be held in October.
“Celebration of highlife with George Darko will bring together the best of musicians from mainly the highlife industry. For us as a label, it is an opportune time to reward the dedication and love that George has shown to a genre that till date forms the bedrock of what we call a music industry in Ghana,” Gilbert Boakye Nhyira of Mirror Image said.
