Public Relations Officer for Charterhouse, George Quaye, has revealed that the two sanctioned artists, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, are yet to return their plaques despite being asked to do so.
George Quaye, speaking with Peace Fm Thursday, said they have no authority to chase the two around to bring the awards but can only rely on courtesy for them to do the right thing.
Rumours were all over Ghana and on social media that the Sarkcess music boss, Sarkodie during his stage performance at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, rekindled the beef between him and Shatta Wale with his introductory music.
However, Ghana’s finest rapper, King Sarkodie, has in an interview with George Quaye on Joy FM rubbished such claims.
One of Ghana’s finest budding rappers Strongman Burner’s 2-years contract with Sarkcess Music Record label ended a few weeks ago and to our surprise, it was not renewed.
Why their contract was not renewed remained a mystery to almost every Ghanaian even those in the music industry knew nothing about.
Head of Communications for Charterhouse (the organizers of VGMA), George Quaye has said the bans that have been placed on Ghana’s two dancehall artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are not permanent but rather an indefinite-meaning they can call them back at any time.
“There still an opportunity for them to come back because it’s not a lifetime ban neither is it a permanent ban, it’s indefinite meaning; there can be a time that the board will recall the ban.“
Communications Head for Charterhouse, organizers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, George Quaye has responded to claims that since the awards won by both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy has been revoked, then their fans should get the money they spent on voting for those artists back.
As you’ll recall, Stonebwoy spent a crazy amount of money to buy credit for fans to vote ahead of the awards, and Shatta Wale did something similar by constantly called on his fans to vote for him. Since those two are two of the biggest artists in the country, it stands to reason their fans spent tens of thousands of cedis voting for them.
Charterhouse’s Head of Communications, George Quaye has rubbished a section of Shatta Wale’s press statement released earlier today which stated that organizers understood that he will sit with his militants in the crowd.
In an interview with Zionfelix, George Quaye stated that even if that was true, it would have been the arrangement of ushers and not the organizers.
Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy’s battle at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) has really gone against Ghana as a nation, sponsors of the event and most especially Charterhouse, the main organizers of the event.
Charterhouse has, however, apologized to their main sponsor Vodafone Ghana, BET international representatives and all other stakeholders who were affected by the actions of these two artistes in a press statement signed by their Head of Communications, George Quaye.
