Multiple award-winning Hip-Life artiste, Okyeame Kwame, real name Kwame Nsiah-Apau, is set to drop a single on Hepatitis B sooner this year – but not until he has finished his business at the Chief’s Palace in Tamale.
Come this Saturday, February 25, the rapper and his team of dedicated medical personnel from MDS-Lancet Laboratory in Accra would pitch camp at the palace of the Chief of Tamale, Dakpema Dawuni Abdulai.
Their mission would be to screen an estimated 1,200 Ghanaians free-of-charge, as part of the nationwide Hepatitis B screening started last year by the Okyeame Kwame Hepatitis B Foundation and supported by the MTN-Ghana Foundation.

Celebrated Highlife musician, Okyeame Kwame, who won the 2009 ‘Artiste of the Year,’ is set to breathe a new verve into his humanitarian drive to give back to society.

Following the establishment of his Okyeame Kwame Foundation (OKF) in 2009, the sensational rapper has taken it upon himself to ‘fight’ and drive Hepatitis B out of the country.

So, as part of activities to mark this year’s World Hepatitis B Day, which falls on Thursday, July 28, the Kumasi-born would organize a free Hepatitis B screening to the public at the Freedom and Justice Park (in front of the popular Obra Spot) at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.
