Yet another bribery scandal has hit Ghana’s supposed ‘August’ House as Members of Parliament admit to taking cash from the National Lottery Authority (NLA), which they used to pay each other per diems/allowances during deliberations over whether to pass a bill directly affecting the Authority.
The bill was the amendment to the National Lottery Act, which was eventually passed to law after the Parliamentarians had paid themselves from the Ghc 100,000 loot.

The minority in Parliament have released a statement calling for the inaugural speech of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, portions of which were found to be plagiarised, to be expunged from the record books.
In a statement released by the caucus and signed by deputy minority leader James Klutse Avedzi, the minority contends the address has brought the nation international ridicule and having been delivered before Parliament, has also entered its records and therefore, it should be wiped from there.
