Its been 5 years since the Ghanaian Hiplife artiste, Castro Under Fire and his alleged girlfriend, Janet Bandu were reportedly drowned following a Jet Ski accident on the Ada river.
Castro before his unfortunate incident had released uncountable songs and was featured almost on all the Ghanaian hit songs during those days.
As the years go by and Ghanaians see no sign of the return of Castro da Destroyer, it becomes inevitable that it has to be accepted that he has died.
Whilst many people do accept that, some others also do not and continue to hold out hope that he’s still alive and hiding in another country. Over the years we have heard stories of Castro ‘sightings’ in countries such as Togo, Benin, Australia and many others.
Yesterday, Friday the 6th of July 2018, was the 4th anniversary of the disappearance of Castro and Janet Bandu during a simple jet skiing trip in Ada. The Ghanaian singer and his female companion Janet where on vacation with Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and his entourage when the tragic accident occurred and both drowned.
It’s barely been a week since a prophet came out to claim that Castro is not dead but actually hiding in another country and all of a sudden stories are popping up in the media that he has been spotted in another country? According to numerous reports, relying on a post by a Ghanaian singer in Australia, Castro ‘Undawater’ is in Ayittey Powers’ favourite country.
Castro and Janet We thought we’d heard all there is to hear from these crazy pastors after Ebony’s death yet there is more out there. A certain prophet known as Cosmos Walker Affran, who recently prophesied death for Shatta Wale, has ‘revealed’ that highlife general Castro, presumed dead since he vanished in Ada with Janet Bandu, is actually not dead.
A man who claims to be a diver employed by Asamoah Gyan following the disappearance of Castro and Janet Bandu three years ago says he managed to find the bodies of the duo at the bottom of the river but the gods would not allow him to bring it back. The man, identified as Samuel Odartey Lamptey, said the duo are dead and not missing as some people claim and he definitely found their bodies.
A few years ago Asamoah Gyan made headlines when a trip to Ada with his buddy Castro went awry, ending in Castro and a female companion disappearing when they went jet-skiing.
A search and rescue effort for the two yielded no results, although some were hesitant to believe that the duo had died.
Legendary record producer Appietus says he was well on his way to transitioning to becoming a musician, but Castro’s disappearance put a stop to all his plans.
Appietus, one of the greatest producers this nation has ever produced, also wanted a career behind the microphone, but it never matieralised.
It is not clear whether Hiplife musician Castro (real name Theophilus Tagoe) and Janet Bandu who went missing on July 6, 2014 are still alive or not but his colleague musician, Mzbel, says she believes Castro is no more.
According to Mzbel, she saw Castro in a dream smiling at her. In the said dream, the ‘16 Years’ hit maker said she tried her possible best to touch Castro with her hands but she couldn’t.
It has been almost a year since Castro and Janet Bandu disappeared whilst jet skiing in Ada, but for Janet’s family all hope isn’t lost yet.
Speaking to Graphic Showbiz, the family claimed that the gods have not definitively told them that Janet is dead. So until they hear otherwise from the oracles, they would continue to cling to hope.
“We can’t hold a funeral for her because she is not dead. We don’t believe that at all,” Ex-CPO Baba Anafo, the maternal uncle of Janet said when Showbiz caught up with the family at Olebu in Accra recently.
“We come from Tongo in the Upper East Region and belong to the Talensi tribe. We have processes and traditions we practise as a people and as a native, we have consulted the right oracles and so far, the feedback has been positive.
The two were jet skiing on the Volta River at Ada on July 6, 2014, when they miraculously disappeared into thin air. Efforts by the police and various rescue teams to look for the whereabouts of the missing individuals were unsuccessful; one factor been the police not having the right logistics to search for the missing persons.
The Castro and Janet Bandu’s disappearance is really sad—but what is heartbreaking is the fact that, Asamoah Gyan’s people and Castro’s family have still not gone to officially see Janet Bandu’s father, or officially inform him of the disaster.
Courtesy and Culture demand that, at least Castro’s family or Asamoah Gyan’s people who were responsible for Janet Bandu’s trip to Ada should have visited Janet Bandu’s family—and officially inform him of what happened.
But according to Janet Bandu’s father who spoke on Hitz Fm, up to date everything he knows about his daughter’s disappearance is from the radio—and none of the parties who took his daughter to Ada have come to even see him…
Nothing should have stopped Asamoah Gyan from putting together an entourage to visit Janet Bandu’s family and officially inform them of what happened to their relative but he doesn’t seem to get it…
We are surrounded by several unsolved mysteries and many of these we can live with by just ignoring them—including how the last meat disappeared from the food that you were eating alone.
All around the world, there are unsolved disappearance stories with the popular British case being how two medical doctors lost their daughter-Madeleine McCann in Portugal in 2007 to the wind. The disappearance of Madeleine for many years remained a top priority of both the British and Portuguese Police—and yet, nothing concrete has been found or located.
It’s almost 5 months gone and still nothing worth knowing has emerged in relation to the disappearance of Castro and Janet Bandu. Interestingly, the talk about the two and attempts to place them somewhere through the many conspiracy theories seem to have gone with the wind too.
We couldn’t even for a fact establish the true nature of the relationship that existed between Castro and Janet Bandu—and we couldn’t know for sure what actually happened when they jumped onto the jet-ski, though we’ve heard several conflicting stories.
If we couldn’t solve the simplest—being their relationship mystery, it’s obvious that we cannot displace our assumptions or non-yielding mystical dispositions to be able to solve the bigger mystery; what actually happened to the two when they got on the River?
It has been more than 2 months since the bizarre disappearance of Ghanaian Hiplife musician, Castro (real name Theophilus Tagoe) and his alleged girlfriend-Janet Bandu, and we’ve got no real info except that incalculable number of people claim to know their whereabouts.
One of such people, whose claims have amounted to nothing, is Maurice Ampaw – a private legal practitioner.
Lawyer Ampaw made various claims last month, saying he knows the whereabout of Castro, citing 30th September, 2014 as the deadline for the revelation of his assertions. When Ampaw was contacted on the said date, he emphatically told Ghanaians that he owes nobody explanation.
According to him, he had reported and made his claims available to the police so there’s no need of informing the public (as opposed to his earlier statements).
In relation to this, ASP Benefo Darkwa – PRO for Ghana Police Service – this morning spoke on Channel R, an Accra-based radio station.
For some months now, Maurice Ampaw has been all over in the media, claiming to have information which indicates that, Asamoah Gyan knows the whereabouts of Castro and Janet Bandu—-and he has promised to let us all have this information by the end of this month. So we are patiently waiting…
Maurice Ampaw who spoke to Citi News after the Gyans Press Conference said, “he is in contact with the police to unravel the mystery behind the pair’s disappearance”.
In the last few days, a certain Alberta reported to be a friend of Janet Bandu and the key person who invited Janet to Ada where she met her untimely death or disappeared with hiplife musician-Castro has been trending.
And with a lot of people asking to see the photo of this Alberta, a GhanaCelebrities.Com’s reader sent in these photos of Alberta, saying, she is friends with her and Janet Bandu on facebook.
In a new twist, an Accra based legal practitioner-Dr. Maurice Ampaw has exclusively told radio XYZ that “come the end of this month, he’ll reveal the whole truth surrounding the whereabout of popular hip-life musician, Theophilus Tagoe aka Castro”.
The lawyer categorically stated that, Asamoah Gyan also knows the whereabout of Castro, which he will reveal…
The lawyer also added that, he is surprised the police service has still not arrested Asamoah Gyan for questioning and interrogation—and that during his own investigation, he found out that a necklace worn by Castro was later found in a dustbin hours before he and his lady friend got missing.
Dear Chris, I am one of the many people who do not believe Asamoah Gyan is an angel of death or sacrificed his friend-Castro De Destroyer and female friend-Janet Bandu for riches. Even if I am to believe this impossibility on the grounds of a hungry man looking for money, Asamoah Gyan will not fit … Read more
Over a month ago, we were slapped with a shocking news that Ghanaian musician-Castro De Destroyer and his alleged girlfriend-Janet Bandu had disappeared while jet-skiing in Ada, a weekend away from home organised by Ghanaian football star-Asamoah Gyan.
Today, Janet Bandu’s father has alleged that, he thinks his daughter-Janet Bandu and Castro were murdered by Asamoah Gyan and his group of friends—and his suspicion comes from the fact that a certain Alberta (alleged girlfriend of Asamoah Gyan) who claims to have invited Janet Bandu to Ada has been behaving cunningly and throwing into the air various inconsistent stories.
Speaking on Neat Fm this morning, the family of Janet Bandu said, Alberta must come out to tell them where their daughter is—and that, since their daughter disappeared, this Alberta or Asamoah Gyan and his people have not come to even see them.
The family claims that since Janet Bandu and Castro disappeared, Asamoah Gyan and those who claim to have been with these two people have not even come to see the family at all. The family also wants Asamoah Gyan arrested for proper interrogation—and that up to now, no one has questioned Asamoah Gyan who took the two people to Ada…
The father of Janet Bandu asked if Asamoah Gyan is above the law in Ghana or what?
It seems someone is hiding something and the stories do not just add up.
The Castro saga continues unabated, three weeks after the hit Musician and Janet Bandu disappeared over the waters of the Volta River in Ada. During these three weeks, we have heard from spiritualists from all walks of life, explaining what happened on that fateful day of 06 July 2014.
Ghanaians have a new mystery to solve today, as the head pastor of the Glorious Word Ministry International, Rev Owusu Bempah, has found himself in some pretty hot waters over a supposed prophecy he made. Inexplicably, for the first time in my life, we’re dealing with a Man of God running away from a potentially true ‘prophecy’.
On the 31st December last year, Rev Owusu Bempah had a prophecy that a big time musician in this country was going to die. Seconds later, the story goes, he heard the word Castro whispered in his ear.
Ladies and Gentlemen, this should be the most open and shut case in the history of prophecies. Even Joseph doubted when he was told his virgin wife was with child via the holy spirit, but I see no room for ambiguity in Rev Bempah’s prophecy.
However, Rev Owusu Bempah, who two seconds earlier had announced a prominent Ghanaian musicianwould die, says he asked his congregation who Castro was? Amazingly, his congregation conveniently forgot the part about the musician, and someone in there shouted that Castro is the president of the Republic of Cuba.
So, the congregation went ahead to pray for Fidel Castro, to forestall his supposed death.
Here’s the best part: Rev Owusu Bempah actually knows Castro personally, he said they play football together, alongside Asamoah Gyan and some other prominent personalities.
So to sum up this crazy story; you know Castro the musician personally, God supposedly tells you a Ghanaian musician would die, whispers Castro into your ears two seconds later, and you go all the way to communist Cuba to find Castro?
Apparently, Castro De Destroyer’s ex-girlfriend-Mzbel (if you didn’t know now you know) was spotted in Ada few days ago—and she was not there to pay respect to Castro or help with the search, rather, it seems she was there to chill…
According to a report by PeaceFmOnline.Com, “It is not clear if Mzbel went to Ada in search of her former lover or she went on holiday but onlookers and sources in Ada have disclosed to Peacefmonline.com that the “Sixteen Years’ hit singer was spotted jet skiing on the same Ada River where Castro’s unfortunate incident happened”.
Following her visit to Ada, Mzbel shared some photos on social media, happily sitting on a Jet Skii—and many have called her out, saying she is being insensitive.
What do you think? I guess, let the dead bury their own dead…right?
I’ve heard the arguments which stand that, you do not pronounce a person dead until a body is found and I am aware of the common law principle which states, inter alia that, a missing person can only be pronounced legally dead after 7 years—-and this is where there is evidence pointing to the fact that the person was subjected to a particular peril, unless his disappearance can be otherwise explained. But as always, there are key exceptions.
The above means a missing person should be assumed alive unless there is enough strong evidence indicating otherwise—and though such evidence does not exist in Castro’s case, we all have lost hope and have pronounced him dead (in mind and with our lips).
Nevertheless, there are certain people who are still of the view that, Castro is alive—and interestingly, these people are his close family and friends.
The above sounds like a case of having lost something you so much cherish and therefore, the shock having clouded your judgment, making it particularly difficult to come to terms with the fact that you’ve lost that thing for good. We’ve all experienced this before, in relationships, properties and in persons.
I believe Castro’s people are facing the above human state of mind—difficult to let go when it is really gone. But conversations I’ve had with several industry persons in the last few days and from what I’ve heard, there is still some good chance that Castro De Destroyer is not dead, perhaps, hiding in a hotel somewhere, scratching his head over how to “acceptably” come out.
Definitely, if Castro re-appears today unhurt or without any well thought of story to tell, people will go fuming, including myself and probably, the law will even find a charge for his butt—not for just being stupid but for breaking a substantive law of the State.
Now, I am sure you want to know what I’ve been hearing and the sort of credibility I’ve personally accorded these stories, though, I remain part of the many who think it will be a 21st century miracle for Castro to re-appear. (And remember when it comes to miracles, I perfectly agree with David Hume’s explanation in ‘An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding’).
