A pregnant Jehovah’s Witness from Australia lost her baby, and then died a short while later after doctors diagnosed her with leukaemia and told her she needed surgery; but she refused blood transfusion on religious grounds.
According to MailOnline, doctors told the 28 year old she could give birth via c-section, and would need chemotherapy as well; both processes requiring blood transfusion.
Her refusal to consent to the transfusion meant doctors were helpless to help her, and her baby died three days later. She died a short while later herself, after suffering a stroke and multi organ failure.
