South African film-maker-Tim Greene has been late to the party of ‘John & John’ featuring SKEEM.

Many weeks after Ghanaians slammed film-maker Kofi Asamoah’s John & John for what they regard as a complete thievery of SKEEM, a South African movie, the film-maker of SKEEM has taken to social media to express his shock of what he calls “a word-for-word rip-off of our movie SKEEM!”

Kofi Asamoah has explained the overwhelming similarity in both movies as ‘John & John’ being an Adaptation of SKEEM–but it seems the man behind SKEEM does not know anything of such an Adaptation, let alone to recognise it as such.

John & John Premiere in Accra

Kofas Media and Miracle Wave International’s 150,000 dollars’ budget movie, John & John–The Tale of the Greedy Bastards, an all-star cast film received a successful premiere in Accra yesterday at West Hills Mall and Accra Mall’s SilverBird Cinemas.

Prior to the production, Director-Kofi Asamoah mentioned in a conversation that he was considering an all-star movie, which would be an adaption of multiple award-winning South African Director- Tim Greene’s 2011 Skeem.

A few days ago, GhanaCelebrities.Com reported that the movie now known as “John & John–The Tale of the Greedy Bastards” which seeks to take a hit at greedy bastards seems to have its own inner greedy bastards, set to play key roles. That’s after several cast members of which some are top African actors jumped on the neck of the two production houses following the announcement that $150,000 was to be sent on the movie–asking to be paid more than they had initially agreed to.

“As a result of this development, we are told Martha Ankomah, Majid Michel and other top actors many not be appearing in the movie–despite having been initially mentioned as part of the cast,” we reported.
