The allegations have now turned to a civil action as Kiki Banson has sued Afia Schwarzenegger for defamation and is seeking Ghc 1m in damages.
Banson recently reported Afia to the police for fraud, which led to her arrest and subsequently bail.

At long last, Kiki Banson-manager of award winning musician Becca severed his 8 year management deal with the artiste – and their secret love affair, has somehow come out for those who care to use deductive reasoning.

During the period Kiki managed Becca, she always denied going out with any man. Each time one watched her being interviewed on TV, listened to her being interviewed on radio, or read any write-up which touched on her love-life or who her fiancé or boyfriend was, she always said: “I’m not dating, I’m not seeing any man or I’m not interested in any affairs for now”.

In fact at one point, she said “I’m married to my music.” On record, the biggest dissension that struck Becca and Kiki’s formal bond was the news that broke out in 2012 that Becca’s father had disowned her because she allegedly, had plans to marry her manager, Kiki Banson.

Now that Becca is no longer under the management of EKB Records, in fact less than 2 weeks after their break up, Becca shared her love and relationship issues freely and with joy on radio – something she would NEVER have done if she was still under the management of EKB Records owned by Kiki Banson.

After the news of their artist-management break up, she did not only confirm it but also added that she has a boyfriend. The latest to come from her is that not only does she have a boyfriend, but this man she is dating is a visionary.

Don’t you also wonder who are the people managing some of our Ghanaian musicians when it becomes obvious that some of these musicians do not know what they are up to?
I have always said that Raquel is another disaster surrounded by people I think have no understanding of branding, contemporary music and videos.
Look, I do not know someone like Kiki Banson but from far, I can see the man understands the business of music and artiste management as well as branding. He delivers quality when it comes to Becca’s career and that is why I careless about either he is indeed chopping down Becca or not. The guy knows what he is about and if Becca has also recognised the value he has added to her raw talent and have decided to give him extras, so be it.
Now back to disastrous Raquel who is being managed by her boyfriend. Music is business for Christ sake and if you have a manager who seems to know nothing about quality delivery, then you are heading go the gutters.
I am getting tired of certain artistes coming out with crappy music videos and then when some of us tell them, backed by their management they some how find non existing defences to justify their mediocre work.

The Ghana Music Award Festival is the biggest event on the Ghanaian entertainment calendar which aims among other things to recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the various players in Ghana’s growing music industry through a coveted Awards Scheme.
Preparations for this year’s event began in October 2011 with a series of intensive Technical Review sessions that sought to overhaul the entire awards scheme as parts of efforts to revamp the scheme when the new partnership with Vodafone was announced.
The entire scheme was reviewed by a Technical Review Team consisting of a cross section of seasoned industry practitioners and executives who spent several days deliberating on ways to uplift and revamp the scheme. The full outcome of the review exercise will be presented to the media next week.

In the series of the Stars of the Future since its inception some years back, one contestant has always stand out as the ‘Show Stopper’ in each year of the competition. This year’s show stopper which the judges concurred was a man with a girlish mannerism; Emmanuel Yawson.

If I was a gambler and had gone ahead to use my lifetime savings to place a bet on him to win the ultimate, I would have become a millionaire now. After witnessing the launch of SOF 5 at the GhOne Studios several months back, I knew and it was very glaring that Emmanuel Yawson was the favourite to win this year’s competition. Aside his ‘gay’ mannerism, he had something that most of the contestants didn’t have.

He is such a great singer. He has the right attitude, good gestures and good stage presence. He is an entertainer as well as a performer. During the launch, the contestants performed R. Kelly’s ‘World Greatest’, Emmanuel on his turn made the needed impression that one needed to commence such a competition.
