The community responsible for throwing Ghana into shock and grief for lynching a then Military Captain now Major Maxwell Adam Mahama has gathered at the flash spot where the heinous crime occurred wailing for his death.
According to reports from AdomOnline.com the residents are clad in red and black whilst they also apologize to the bereaved family, the Military and the Nation at large for the gruesome act.
Late Captain Maxwell Mahama by his gruesome murder whilst away from home on official duty following Government’s pursuit to combat illegal mining has become a Galamsey Martyr and a beacon against mob justice/injustice of any kind.
In this regard, the family of Late Capt. Mahama appealing to the State called on Parliament to erect a Monument in any part of the country in memory of their beloved son, brother and a father that will remind the Public of his death.
Kwaku Manu who is an “Okada Man” in the Denkyira-Boase vicinity witnessed the heinous mob attack that has left Captain Maxwell Mahama dead revealed that he was faced with the golden opportunity to whisk him away from the angry mob but he was equally afraid to help the distressed soldier who sensed the danger coming at him.
According to Kwaku, who works as an Okada Man in the mining town, Capt Mahama hopped onto his motorbike during his run from irate youth and pleaded with him to speed away.
Out of the unjustifiable and barbaric death of Late Captain Mahama, the grief and pain continue to grow in Ghana with everyone trying to understand how the innocent soul couldn’t have been saved by anyone in Diaso.
The town despite probably having some innocent and good people have been adjudged by most as wicked people.
