Black Stars manager James Kwesi Appiah and his technical team where paid their salaries on Wednesday, August 2, for the first time since they took over the national team on the 1st of May.
A decision by government to hold back on the GNPC’s sponsorship of the team led to the technical staff being forced to work for three months without receiving their salaries.

GFA Confirm Backroom Appointments For Stephen Appiah, Olele Kingson
Ghana legends Stephen Appiah and Richard Kingson are making a return to the team they led to the top of world football after rumours of their impending return were seemingly confirmed.
Appiah has been tapped as the Black Stars new team manager under Kwesi Appiah, whilst Olele is set become the team’s new goalkeepers’ trainer.

Former Black Stars manager and current head coach of the Sudanese side Al Khartoum, James Kwesi Appiah, has reportedly been reappointed to the post of Black Stars head coach, three years after he left the role following a disastrous world cup in Brazil.
According to numerous local media reports, the GFA has settled on Appiah and would hand him a two year contract in the job.
