Feminism as an ideology is certainly an admirable thing to aspire to. There is no doubt women historically have been disenfranchised and there is the need to take special measures to correct that in today’s society.
The late, great, Christopher Hitchens always used to say that the solution to poverty around the world is the empowerment of women. So whilst fighting for women’s rights is noble, it’s definitely not what some of the latter-day social media feminists are fighting for.
