NPP's Manifesto Launch An 'Insultfest' – President Mahama
The President observed the 2016 NPP Manifesto launch with some mirth, it seems, as the opposition party made pummeling his party and his government for their stewardship of the country the past four years a key part of exchanges on the day.
Whilst the NPP were delivering what they called a message of ‘hope’, the President did not quite see it that way.

President Mahama Says There Is No Need For A Return To Four Years SHS Since The Current Three Year System Produces Far Better Results
You might think this year’s WASSCE results were bad, but fear not, they aren’t as bad as they used to be, according to our President anyway.
The disastrous results of the exams, in which over 2/3’s of students failed Math, with barely better numbers in other subjects, seems to have reignited the debate over whether SHS should be for four or three years.
Nana Addo Says He's Keeping His Policy Proposals To Improve The Ailing NHIS Close Because Mahama Would Steal Them If He Reveals It
It seems trivial and frivolous but this is actually a legitimate concern of Nana Akuffo-Addo, a clear indication of the kind of joke our political system has become.
For this same reason the two political parties hold out on releasing their manifestos for as late as they can, for fear the other would just copy and paste their ideas.

John Dumelo Denies Meeting Nana Akuffo-Addo Last Year To Beg To Join His Campaign
John Dumelo and the political theatre that follows him is worthy of a novel by itself. He always has strong opinions slanting towards the NDC and has problems with those against the party, even his ‘friend’ Yvonne Nelson.
So it came as quite a shock when it emerged that he had allegedly approached Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo to campaign on his behalf, and that during the meeting he had called the President’s administration ‘corrupt and incompetent’.

Nana Akuffo Addo Calls For Cease Fire In Current NPP Disagreements: Read Full Statement
The flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, this afternoon addressed party faithful and the nation in an attempt to calm the waters of acrimony and violence that has engulfed the party.
The NPP has been in a state of intense disagreements in recent weeks, over the alleged role of chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong in the death of the deceased Upper East regional chairman Adams Mahama.
This has led to more disagreements and more clashes, none of which is casting the party in any sort of good light. Akuffo Addo’s statement is the attempt to stop the madness and get the party back to the level where Ghanaians feel they’re a viable alternative to the current clueless, corrupt, and incompetent tenure of the NDC.
In his speech, the flag bearer called for a cease fire between all factions within the party. He said the violence tarnishes the memory of the late chairman, and calls on law enforcement to deal with the culprits.
Most importantly, everyone should remember the party has an election to win in 18 months time. This is not the time to be divided.

Miss Malaika Girl Picks NPP’s Akufo-Addo As Sharon Wins The Crown
Nineteen year old Rosemary Anima Awuku wasn’t favourite to win the Miss Malaika@10 crown but noticeably she managed to prove and made her way into the final 5.
To the patrons who witnessed the grand finale at the Conference Centre last Saturday, Anima as she was called throughout the event merited a place at the top or final 3 positions; the winner, the first or second runner ups.
However, the final round of questions which she answered well and would have gotten an excellent from any WAEC organised exams saw her crashing and missing a place in the last 3.
She was not only concise in answering the question; she was smart in her delivery as well and wooed the patrons who cheered her on with deafening applauds intermittently.
Barely a month after Alexandra Ayirebi-Acquah who lost the Miss Malaika 2011 crown to Gerry Partington in controversial circumstances endorsed the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and propagated the party’s ‘Better Ghana Agenda’ during its manifesto launch, Anima, a finalist in the 10th anniversary edition has also endorsed the New Patriotic Party’s Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo and his free education policy.
Now in the final round with Sadia, Anima, Regina, Ama and eventual winner Sharon. On her turn to answer her final question which was a make or break moment, she picked a question which was very unusual of questions asked at beauty pageants.

Out Of Box Story: Wikileaks Has Released Reports Which Say J. J Rawlings Uses Drugs + Nana Akuffo Addo Smokes Marijuana
For some reason, I have even forgotten about Wikileaks and their release of US classified reports. In our forgotten minds, Wikileaks has hit Ghana with reports they released on 30th August, 2011 which are; US Embassy cable that says former President Jerry John Rawlings uses drugs and his finance minister at that time was alarmingly incompetent. And another report by former United States Abbassador to Ghana, Pamela Bridgewater, on the profile of NPP presidential aspirants ahead of the 2008 elections.
On J. J. Rawlings, the cable which was created on July 31, 1997 states “Ambassador Princen’s wife concluded emphatically that Rawlings is a drug-user. Periods of high-level energizing were followed by Rawlings’disappearance for thirty minutes, and upon his return he was subdued and even mellow. He perspired profusely at short notice, and consumed large quantities of non-alcoholic drinks. Princen reinforced my own impression that Rawlings’ attention span has shortened of late. But the Princens found the President open, indulgent towards his children, and extremely deferential – even obsequious – towards his spouse.”
