Nicole Kidman has admitted she had to beg for her role in 1995’s To Die For, a movie that helped skyrocket her career.

Talking with Casey Affleck, her co-star in the flick, for Variety’s Actors On Actors series, the 49-year-old’s admission came out during a candid conversation about how she lost the desire to act after marrying Tom Cruise in 1990.

The actress says she still cannot believe how young she had been when he tied the knot with Tom Cruise in 1990. The two met while filming Days of Thunder and they got married when she was just 23 years old, just a year after. The former couple split in 2001 after adopting two children Isabella and Connor.
Nicole who has been married since 2005 to country singer Keith Urban since 2006 and they have two daughters Sunday Rose, eight, and Faith, five said though she was young and had her two kids when she was barely 27 says she has no regrets as that was all she ever wanted as at that time.

The opening of the 67th Cannes Film festival last night was as usual full of its annual star power, with Nicole Kidman leading the stars for the opening film premiere for ‘Grace of Monaco’.

The opening of this year’s festival featured guests included French culture minister Aurelie Filipetti, Metropolitan Filmexport’s co-founder Samuel Hadida, French producer Eric Altmayer, Gaumont’s chairman Sidonie Dumas and president Nicolas Seydoux. Stars such as Jane Fonda, Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman, Kendal Jenner, Blake Lively and others brought glam to the opening as they graced the red carpet.

The Opening Ceremony of the 67th Festival de Cannes took place in the Grand Théâtre Lumière.

After the theme of the film The Piano by Jane Campion performed by Michael Nyman, Lambert Wilson welcomed on stage the Feature films Jury: Nicolas Winding Refn, Jia Zhangke, Gael Garcia Bernal, Willem Dafoe, Jeon Do-yeon, Leila Hatami, Sofia Coppola, Carole Bouquet and her President, Jane Campion.
