Lance Corporal Kwaku Mensah, a police officer stationed at Anwiankwanta in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region has been shot by suspected robbers on Tuesday dawn at Adansi Akwansrem, a community in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region
The incident occurred after robbers attacked the passengers on board a Sprinter Benz bus with registration number GN 229-13 travelling from New Edubiase to Kumasi.
According to one of the robbery victims, one of the robbers spotted the police officer who was in uniform trying to hide himself. This he said angered the robbers who shot him at close range on his chest.
