A Ghanaian has made a hilarious case against the existing educational syllabus in Ghana–arguing that President Akufo Addo should change this as it makes no sense and does not have any direct relevance in our lives.

He argues that πr2 and the others are plain nonsense–it does not help anyone buy Kenkey to eat when hungry.

The relevance of some of the things all students are compelled to study in Ghana ought to be examined–but not in the way this gentleman thinks it should be done though.

FULL TEXT Of President Akufo Addo’s First State Of The Nation Address

Elected in December 2016 and sworn into power on January 7, 2016, Ghana’s president-Akufo Addo has just had his first State of the Nation Address–assuring Ghanaians that he has come to deliver and not complain.

He also spoke about the pockets of lawlessness that took shape in different parts of Ghana when the NPP won the election, saying, he instructed the Police to deal with immediately he took seat as the President.

He said: Mr. Speaker, certain incidents occurred during the transition period that are matters of concern to me, and should be to every Ghanaian, as they marred an otherwise dignified and successful transition. Wrongdoing has no political colour, and I do not subscribe to the lawlessness of political party supporters simply because their party has been elected into office.”

“Mr. Speaker, when those incidents began, I instructed the then Inspector General of Police, John Kudalor, to apply the law, irrespective of political affiliation, to all lawbreakers. This instruction was also carried on to his successor, David Asante Appeatu. Both of them acted upon it, which helped to bring the situation under control,” he added.

President Akufo-Addo spoke a lot about his Special Prosecutor initiative during is campaigning, saying, the person will be an independent prosecutor unconnected to the Attorney Genera Department –and that he will become some sort of citizen vigilante but backed by the government to prosecute wrong-doing state officials.

According to Abusua Fm, kufo Addo has now “named renowned lawyer, Akoto Ampaw as the special independent prosecutor of government.”

Every truthful NPP supporter will concede without hesitation that Ghana at 50 was a mess–the birthday celebration cost the nation about US$ 75 Million Dollars when we didn’t have half of that in our national coffers.

In fact, we borrowed that much money to through a birthday party and months later, we were still looking for monies way lesser than that to fight malaria and build schools.

History does not seem to have taught us any good lesson as Ghana is set to celebrate another birthday, this time, Ghana at 60.

President Nana Akufo Addo will today, Thursday 26 January inaugurate a committee to plan the Ghana at 60 independence anniversary celebration.
