The United Kingdom has increased its tuition fees to about 9000 pounds a year for British citizens–and countries like Finland which offered free tuition fees have announced an end to this, starting next year.
Yet, Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has promised that with time and under his administration, Ghana will soon witness “progressively free tertiary education.”
Addressing students of the University of Cape Coast on Wednesday as part of his five-day tour of the Central Region, President Mahama stated that his government is investing heavily in tertiary education in order to make teaching and learning easier.
