A video which surfaced online a few days ago showed President Mahama giving out what seems like money to at least two people during his recent campaign visit to the Abossey Okai market in Accra.
Though many people from President Mahama’s government such as Chief of State-Julius Debrah have said the President was rather giving out leaflets and not cash, Kofi Adams, the National Campaign Coordinator of the NDC has said the President is free to give out money to whoever he wants as a Ghanaian.
Now, Daily Guide newspaper is reporting that sources close to the President have admitted President Mahama has given out money during his campaign tour in Accra and Sunyani, but these are acts of pure kindness and not to bribe voters.

President Mahama's Gov't Approves $700 Dollar Annual Leave for Military Officers + PHOTOS

President John Dramani Mahama has today announced that his government has approved a $700 annual leave package for military officers on external peace keeping operations.
The President made this announcement when he attended the 2016 Ghana Military Academy graduation parade at Teshie in Accra.
He said: “I have approved a recommendation from the military high command and the Armed Forces Council for the introduction of a Ghana government paid leave allowance of 700 US dollars for all ranks on external peace keeping operations.”
President Mahama added that, all civilians who work with the military would also get a GHC 40 increment in their allowances.
“Rationed allowances for all uniformed personnel have also been increased to GHC 120 and clothing allowances for civilian employees has also been increased to GHC40. These adjustments take effect from 3rd September 2016 and we shall continue to upwardly review other allowances at the appropriate time,” he said.
This new annual leave package comes just weeks after the President was “forced” to increase the the salary of Ghanaian peacekeepers from 31 dollars to 35 dollars.

President Mahama Has Increased Military Peacekeepers’ Allowance By $1 From 30 Dollars A Day to 31 Dollars

President Mahama has increased the allowances of Ghanaian peacekeepers by 1 dollar–from the current 30 dollars a day to 31 dollars.
“Together with the armed forces council and the high command, we have decided to increase by one dollar a day the rate that is paid to peace keeping soldiers who go out,” President Mahama said yesterday-Thursday at the Burma camp in Accra.
This increase will benefit every UN mission peacekeeper–and it comes at a time when peacekeepers have been complaining about how little their allowances are and how long it even takes for them to receive payment.
