BBC African footballer of the year Mohammed Salah leads a lineup of three heavyweight stars battling it out for the 2017 African Footballer of the Year award.
Liverpool winger Salah picked up the BBC award last week, and is the strong favourite to follow that up with victory in the upcoming CAF organized scheme.
Leicester City’s Algerian winger, Riyadh Mahrez, has been named African Footballer of the Year for 2016 by the Confederation of African Football.
Mahrez beat Gabonese goal machine and 2015 winner, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the crown, after a spectacular year which included leading his English club on an improbable run to winning the Premiership.

Mahrez beat out competition from the reigning champion, Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as well as Ghana and West Ham United forward Andre Ayew ‘Dede’.
