Ghana’s Black Stars have made it to the quarter-finals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and today at 16:00 GMT, they will take on Guinea in an attempt to secure a semi finals place—a match the Black Stars must win.

The Black Stars have beaten Guinea with ease recently so they will be walking onto the pitch as the favourite to win but when it comes to football, you cannot always bet on past glories and Guinea will be coming on to win too.

In a pre-match conference, Ghana’s coach- Avram Grant has said the “familiarity between both sides in recent times will make their quarter final clash on Sunday evening more difficult,” reports GhanaSoccernet.Com .

He said; “We played against them during qualification which means we know them and they know us,” Grant said in his pre-match press conference.

“But preparations are the same – training, meetings.

“We know that quarter finals is one game.

“This is not the group stage, in the group stage we lost one game and had to win the other two games to qualify [for quarter finals].

“I know Guinea, I saw their games and I must say they play very good football.

“They know how to play football and they have good players and they deserve to be here in the quarter finals.

“They will be a very tough team to beat.”

Slowly, the Black Stars are winning back the hearts of the many disappointed Ghanaian football fans and today’s win will go a long way to help their cause of mending broken relationship with the fans.
