Pastors Say GH¢67,000 Got Burnt In Church Fire Disaster But Members Say They Suspect Foul Play

The first question I asked after reading this story was; who keeps GH¢67,000 at the church when we have so many banks in Accra? And this is the same question members of Power Prayer Ministry based at Madina, Accra are asking…

According to the church pastors, a recent fire disaster which burnt down the church and the various items in the church also burnt an amount of GH¢67,000 which was being kept in the church, reports the Daily Heritage.

It seems like some ‘kpakpakpa’ movement is going on here—because, why would anyone keep such a huge amount in the church when the church has a bank account, only to come and tell members that fire has burnt the cash?

Perhaps, after the money went missing into the pockets of these pastors—they decided to blame the fire. Whatever it is, the church members are not buying into the obvious BS and they are requesting that the issue must be thoroughly investigated…

I hope someone doesn’t come and tell us one day that Bank of Ghana has burnt down with all our cash—this time, it wouldn’t be the pastors but their brothers in business, the politicians.

  1. Why is anyone surprised by this? The whole church business is a 419? If they are not torching their churches to hide their misdeeds, they are having children harvest, women harvest and men harvest. Plus Kofi and Ama harvest and on and on. And after they’ve collected all the money for the year they come after their already drained followers to sow seeds for the next year.. The followers are conned to believe that by giving they’ll be blessed. None argues that it is through hard work and not magic that they earn their living.
Every church in Ghana with the exception of the Roman Catholic, the Anglican church and the original Methodist church, is running a 419 to fleece its congregants.
Burning a church to conceal the theft of money in my view is them working too hard. They could just have told their members the holy spirit took it. And the members would believe them. The elders could even have raised money based on it.
