I love the Ghanaian social media nonsense, but only to the extent that the fools mounting useless arguments send it the way of their co-equal fools.
I have just been tagged in an insane argument, that London and Paris flood, so if Accra floods, people should not make it as if it’s the only city in the world that floods.
This is where I get angry at the hovering ignorance and insensitivity on the part of these political lunatics, who fail to consider several other important factors in their lame submissions.
Of course every city in the world is capable of flooding, if your city is flooding predictably and annually, then you are stupid to compare it to those that rarely or periodically flood.
Secondly, London and Paris have effective response and disaster units, your city or entire country has nothing close to what these people have—so if these cities flood, the victims wouldn’t suffer as much as the hell those ‘poor’ Ghanaians go through annually.
Thirdly, I live in the UK; if I come home to see my entire apartment flooded—and my car destroyed by rains, tough luck.
But I will probably get a new car or a similar one on the back of insurance. I have room content insurance so everything valuable, from my books to computers will be immediately replaced, free of charge.
Now, tell me, would the many Ghanaians who suffer from this preventable annual floods have their lost properties, and lives restored?
Lastly, comparing the suffering of someone to another embodies lack of compassion, the hallmark of insensitivity.
Why are people so blinded by politics that they will go every extent to protect the political class who continue to take a grand piss of the ordinary Ghanaian?
Ghana’s flood is no more a natural disaster, it keeps happening because of our stupidity, and the inherent political incompetence that some people hate to see highlighted.
