Protests Hit Kumasi Krofrom After Youngster Is Allegedly Killed By Police Brutality


 
Residents of Krofrom in the Ashanti Region embarked on a rampage Friday morning, with the news that a 22 year old resident had been killed, allegedly due to police brutality.
The deceased, Osei Tawiah, died Thursday night after an encounter with police, who supposedly were trying to arrest him but rather brutalised him to death.
GraphicOnline reported Friday that:

Osei Tawiah who was 22 years old left his bag behind a house and went to the public toilet only to be arrested by a police team.
The police were said to have, handcuffed and beat him up while his family members looked on since his house was close to where the incident happened.
He was said to have been pushed to the ground and crashed his head.

The incident led to widespread protests early Friday, with angry youth around the town protesting police brutality by burning tyres and vandalising property.
