We all laughed at Antoa when some bold thieves waltzed into its shrine and made off with some expensive jewellery, so don’t get yourself pissed off just because it’s your turn, Christians.
But if some thieves walk onto ‘holy ground’ and make off with valuable equipment, it’s a fair question to ask – was your God dead or just asleep?
Some thieves in the Brong Ahafo Region hit the premises of the Living Grace Ministries International on Sunday (Sunday!) and made off with church equipment worth over Ghc 100,000.
According to the Ghana News Agency, the suspected robbers broke into the premises of the church, located at Berlin-Top, a suburb of Fiapre in the Sunyani West District.
They made away with items including, according to the agendy: “Belinger Composers (Compressor), Allen and Heath 24000 mixer board, TRX 4000 Amplifier, TRX 2500 amplifier, Yamaha E950 keyboard, Yamaha 9000 keyboard, two LCD 32 inches Television, Strong decoder and turner Amplifier.”
Damn, talk about hitting the jackpot!
According to the founder and General Overseer of the Church, Dr Richard Owusu Akyeaw, the thieves managed to get into the premises because their security man failed to report to work that day.
He told GNA that they entered through a back window, cutting through the metal mesh with a very sharp instrument.
The matter has been reported to Police, Dr Akyeaw added, calling on the general public to assist with any information they have for the culprits to be caught.
Or, alternatively, Doctor – you could just pray to the God who didn’t stop the robbery.
